Lol, we all get closer every year though.

SaltyShaw 06-21-2011 10:22 AM

i got a little ways to go . . . .

DUCKGOGETTER 06-21-2011 10:23 AM

You have nothing to worry about unless you feel the doctors both hands on your waste.

Dink 06-21-2011 10:25 AM

Oh and schedule it early in the morning.....mine was late in the day and the no eating almost killed me!!!

The flavoring they give you for the go lytly is horrible! I can still taste it and its been a long time......ask them if there's any other way to "cleanse"

eman 06-21-2011 10:26 AM

Just had my third one 2 weeks ago.
The worst part of it is the stuff you have to drink the day / night before.
I had to mess w/ my doc a bit,
Had my wife take a washable marker and write EXIT ONLY across my butt before i went in for the procedure. When i woke up she was standing by my bed w/ an envelope. In it was a picture of my butt and under what she had written was a sign on a piece of paper that said.... Wanna Bet?

DUCKGOGETTER 06-21-2011 10:27 AM

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salty 06-21-2011 10:27 AM

I gotta start fastin' Sunday night and start drinkin' that crap Monday. No coffee!!!!:pissed: The surgeon told me yesterday that the reason I have to drink that stuff is to "clean out" my colon. I told him that I can do that with coffee.....I do it every mornin'.

DUCKGOGETTER 06-21-2011 10:28 AM

Same here like clock work around 9am

Cancer runs in both sides of my family so my doc recomended i have my 1st one at 40 an every 4 years instead of 5 years.
The stuff i had to drink was move prep i think.

Salty 06-21-2011 10:46 AM

What bothers me the most is......

This "procedure" will be done at a facility that has a huge sign out front that reads, "LSU Medical Center". The surgeon and the anesthesiologist are LSU grads and are HUGE Tiger fans. I'm in and out of that hospital every day runnin' my mouth about LSU.

I ain't lookin' forward to this. :shaking: :help:

jchief 06-21-2011 10:51 AM

They are not bad. Have had 3 of them myself. The prep, Go Lytly, is horrible.

Just don't ask for a second opinion! ;)

Salty 06-21-2011 10:59 AM

I've been friends with the anesthesiologist for years. He told me yesterday that they're using a "special mix" to sedate me. He said, "You won't feel anything during the "procedure", and, if you wake up, there won't be any adverse effects. Only thing is.....you're gonna go around hollerin' 'GEAUX TIGERS' for about a week."

inchspinner 06-21-2011 11:09 AM

Good luck..you'll feel like a real man when its over...gotta have em done, always get it checked as bad as it may be.

huntin fool 06-21-2011 11:20 AM

Just do it and quit cryin'....;)

If you remember all my health problems earlier this year, just get it done and stay healthy.

The only thing I have not recovered from is the fact that I had to put my family through a team of doctor's telling them that I only had a 10% chance of surviving.

Having 12 inches of my colon removed, a month on life support and $400K in doctor bills means nothing to me when my eyes open every morning and I see my kids and grand baby......oh yea, and the wife also...:D

You will survive......I did.....by the grace of GOD.....:)

Dang, they cut you no slack! As if the "procedure" wasn't bad enough. :help: Then you have to wait and fart for the doctor (or nurse)! The gonna try and make a complete mockery out of ya arn't they? :p

duckman444 06-21-2011 12:21 PM

I had one. My dr was old school. He was just shy of retirement. No sedative no pain meds. I was wide awake. It was the worst pain I ve ever felt. Cold sweats. Little white lights. Two nurses holding me down. It was horrible. When I threatened to put his teeth down his throat he stopped the procedure. Needless to say I ve never seen him sense. Bad very bad ordeal. So make sure they sedate u.

Good luck Salty...we'll all prob have to do this at some point in time...depending on the new health care system...may have to get the Iranian Doctor Probe special, but pelosi's family will get top notch health care...sorry ranting. "just pass it so we can see what in it"...:pissed:

booyagasha 06-21-2011 12:50 PM

im glad i still got 15 years before im obligated to, salad anyone?l lol

1fastmerc 06-21-2011 03:28 PM

I'm 35 and have the privilege to have had many of them since I was 17. The worst part is the prep the day before. My sister had one done today. Last year they found colorectal cancer and removed it in November. A little bit of discomfort from this test is nothing compared to what I've seen her go thru.
