Neither one of them pics look promising! :(

Ray 06-30-2011 07:58 PM

I seen no ponds or canals North of the Lil Chenier road that had enuff water for a boat to go thru.
I did see some places just East of the Catfish Locks dock with water, but none to the West of the dock.

That's what the marsh i hunt looks like. All i can say is come teal season whoever has blinds that they can pump water too are gonna slaughter them.

RODBENDER 07-01-2011 07:28 AM

Now is the time to work on your marsh blinds and dig ponds or cuts out for duck season. This is not the norm sotake advantage of plowing and putting some levees up to hold water for duck season. I did this last year and it paid off big time. I was able to do all the work I had talked about over the years to improve my spot.

There's still plenty of fish to be caught. We have dogfights every week in the burns with 10 to 15lbs stringers coming in.

DUCKGOGETTER 07-01-2011 04:34 PM

You know i know that's not what laccassine wanted to do, but now is the time for them to get it together and fix that place like they wanted to. They used tax payers money to install what looks like a billion dollars worth of pumps for what.

I think a lot of people may disagree with the fact of this not being what they wanted out there. Things maybe worse then they expected them get but they have not managed that place like they should or as it should if it is a place to fish and I know people will say that's not what it is intended to be used for. I will agree as I am sure others will that now is the chance to fix it right, they have pumps so now they need to make it where they can get water, it would be nice if they would clean some of the canels and make them deeper and maybe even dig some deeper holes so the fish have a place to go that's alittle cooler and also in case water ever gets like it is now.
