offshore fishing is too easy

It was way too calm to resist an offshore trip yesterday. We took off out of Freshwater City and had one hell of a day. We caught our limit of red snapper, 17 chicken dolphin, one bull dolphin, 4 cobia, 1 mangrove, and 2 king mackerel. After leaving one of the rigs, we saw some kings swimming around 20 ft. down, all of a sudden a sailfish appeared right behind the boat. It was quite a sight; about 5-6 ft. in length! Doesn't get much better than that, and I finally got my first cobia.

Just wanted to add that the guys we've been going out with are the same guys that have reelmanfishing charters. He's put up a few advertisements and they are a blast to go with, the capt, Andre, has been offshore fishing for probably the better half of his life and is real knowledgeable about the sport.

You are absolutely right, I haven't been deep-sea fishing enough. But one thing I have done enough of is speckled trout, bass and red fishing, and when you get to choose which fish out the bunch you want to catch, it makes things much easier than the fishing I grew up doing. I guess I should have titled the thread "offshore fishing is much easier than speck fishing as long as you have the money and the conditions are right, in my personal opinion."

Ain't nothing like blue water fishing
