Dove hunt
 

If I'm in for opening day, I'd like to put on a dove hunt at my place and have a few of you guys over for a dove hunt and cookout afterwards. Spoke to Jordan, and he's down for it. I figure we could put about 15 to 20 guns out. But, like I said, depends on when opening day is and if I'm in or not. BYOB

Let's get it son. I have an 870 20 gauge to lend someone if they need a gun. Have a case (250) shells to go with it. Just show up.

I might be in Florida.

I'm going to bring the other one just in case don't know if the dog will be ready or not, but he's coming with me.

Dove season always opens the Saturday of labor day weekend. I'm down and I will cook if needed :)!!

My property is in lake Arthur just ten miles down the road if we have enough people we can split up set the smokers some where and meet in the middle. My opening weekend usually consists of me and my 3 year old grandson and dog making a make shift camp and him asking how many times u gonna shoot paw paw till Me and ford can go get a dove. I tell him paw paw is shooting old shells from last year so they must not be any good.he just looks and tells me with a straight face do u want to shoot my bb gun maw maw just bought my bb's this morning lol I told him no u shoot them and paw paw will retrieve them

Im totally up to help out wherever. Then again Im texan so w will probably shop a texan riding a four wheeler with some caption about us being retarted :)

I'd like to get in on that if i'm off. I aint too good hittin doves but i like to sling lead at em.

Is your place on the north or south side of i-10? Just wondering cause i live north of jennings on hwy 97 behind garber farms and i have a big shop if we need a spot to get together after the hunt.

I'm north of I-10 off of the S curve on 26. I have an outdoor kitchen with a big patio and a pool, so we should have plenty of room as long as the whole website doesn't show up. LMAO

What type of field will we be hunting in?

The field was rice year before last. They let it sit last year, and this year they disked it once to turn it over, and now the cows are grazing. Birds are there now< and I'm going to keep an eye on em to see if they stick around. Last year they disappeared right before hunting season. Field wasn't turned over though.

I don't even need to hunt just go and cook and meet a bunch of you guys

Field we will be hunting is outlined in yellow. My house is outlined in red. After doing some research, it looks like dove season opens the first weekend of Sept. in which I WILL be home. Looks like this should be a go. If it looks like more want to hunt than I can handle, Hanks has a spot in Lake Arthur and we can split up and meet at my place later. As it gets closer, those that would like to cook or what not, we can get together and come up with some ideas. All ideas are welcome, and the wife is down for this and all the food. :rocker:
