Market basket on country club smoked boudin. The best.

|
The other day one of our hotshot drivers brought some bacon wrapped boudin. It looked like turds but that was some good stuff. I think he said it came from iowa or sausage link.
|
There is a website that rates boudin. Rabideaux and market basket are ranked highest in this area . I love boffa dem.

Sonnier's is located at 1244 N. Simmons St. It parallels Hwy 171. The guy that runs it used to make boudin for Market basket for many, many years. He and his wife now run this store.

ok, lets make it Calcasieu Parish, not just lake charles area.

None of it!!! They can't make **** compared to anything around Lafayette !!!!! Y'all think boudin is all rice over here and it's not, gotta have some meat in it.

Hackett's hands down for Lake Charles......Peto's is in Roanoke and sucks.....IMHO the best boudin in SWLA is Don's specialty meats in scott...with a tie for mowata's boudin and Best Stop...

No one around here has any good boudin. Not to mention any good specialty meats. I got spoiled growing up south of Lafayette. Still haven't found a good restaurant here, besides, Mazen's.
|
Great thread. I was going to ask about boudin as I am leaving tomorrow am to drive to Rockport, Tx and want to hit somewhere on the way back to stock up. I used to hit Don's all the time.
|
at this rate just try all these places

Gillis and Homsi's in Calcasieu is good, but not as good as Don's or best stop.
Andouille at Rabideauxs is the bomb as well not to get off subject. |
Anyone tried that new place at the Lacassine exit?

I don't buy specialty meats. If'n you want good meat, you gotta prepare it yourself. I have eaten meats from the old man Hebert, who started Heberts in Maurice, but what he fixed for us, he didn't sell at his place. His son-in-law usta hunt with us and he brought Mr. Hebert to cook for us once a year. His cookin was different than what you can get raw and cook yourself. You like what you were fed as a kid, we had no fast food where I am from. Mama's and grandmaw's cookin was where it's at. Different area's like different kinda cookin. If'n you want cookin like where I grew up at, go to Mama Faye's, just East of Chloe Rd., on Hwy 14 and eat one of them plate lunches. Especially on Wednesdays and Fridays. Them Bertrand girls know how to cook. They cook like what I ate growing up in the Cameron/Creole area. |
I like Boudin King
in Jennings.....for smoked, I haven't found better than Market Basket on Nelson...that Jalapeno is GOOD!

B&O's in Sulphur off old Spanish trail!
|
Sausage Link or The Boiling Point in Sulphur. Number 1 for sure would be The Best Stop in Scott. Their cracklings are great also.
