Little Florida Beach
 

Headed down to the family camp on Little Florida beach this weekend for some "RELAX" time! Water was nice with bait everywhere. Got there Saturday evening around 7 and fished topwater til dark. Caught 10 in 30 min or so...then headed in to get some eats w/ plans on busting them the following morning. (that didn't happen) I got out around 8 Sunday morning to catch the remainder of the tide. B/W 3 of us we had around 40 trout...lost a bunch as i had no net nor a fish grip...more of a good time with family deal-e-O. We did manage one a tad over 5 w/ some solid fish along w/ petes (aka pickles), a few sandies and 1 whiting. I only kept dinner for last night and they were delish! All fish caught on spooks and sand eels.

Had a boat at the rocks catching fish on every cast with live bait..

Can't wait to get back out!

Should be good here on out if it stays calm and thunderstorms die down... We caught 8 specks and 12 reds at the beach sunday morning but got out there way late... To much partying sat night

Sounds like a great time at the beach.

Was there much grass in the water? Grass was a big problem back in June and first part of July.

Looks like the little man was enjoying himself....... but needs to grow them legs a little before he goes with you wade fishing.

Nicely done. Hard to beat a weekend at the camp with family.

There was no grass early to mid day but in the evening the grass came in in small patches..very scattered..only affected my top water minimally.

He's ginormous! 3.5 months old and 18lbs (he is by far bigger/taller than any other his age we've compared him to). I think he's gonna take after his momma's side of the family...her brothers and father are all over 6'3". :D

Forgot to add...took Stulb and my brother out Saturday morning and caught a few specks on Big Lake. Brother caught his biggest fish to date (he's not a big fisherman but has always fished since a kid & I'm working on getting him into the scene) which went a little over 4lbs. We didn't limit out b/c we decided to leave the bite to get away from the crowds and it pretty much died down w/ slack tide once we left. Did manage to spot some trips on the lake...2 really nice sized ones I pretty much ran over w/ my boat while we were cruising the lake.....one we missed while trout fishing b/c it was making a B-Line for the boat and we were caught off gaurd...it dove for bait splashed and spit then dove. O well...there out there though! Have fun catching.....I'll be back out there for the Salty Cajun tourny/bash! Me, Shaw, and some others have a camp rented for that weekend at Heberts. Look forward to meeting a lot of you out there!
