Yeah total Bill $587 and still fighting the bull****!!! And it's a pain in the *** and high $ to get my boat from Hackberry to Lake Charles and back!! So they can fix what they were supposed to do in the first place. When I asked the service manager to show me what cost $587 he looked me dead in the face and said (like a b@#ch) "Well....we are gonna have to take every thing apart." I said "REALLY?? Well let's get to taken it apart"!! I guess I had dumb *** written across my forehead or sumpthin!!

specktator 08-08-2011 10:44 AM

Man that's mechanics for ya. My guy was trying to charge me $2300 to install new lower unit. I got one from SEI for $845 and he charged me $200 to change it out. When I went pick it up he tells me he called SEI and opened up an account for his business. Said he never heard of them before. You are a mechanic dude, how do u not know that you could get one for $1k less? And the one he was gonna get me only had 1 year warranty and SEI has a 3 year warranty.

I have been really happy with LMC in Houston, they are a site sponsor and service all three major engines.

We need one of these around here...@ least I would know why the price was a little inflated "CUSTOMER SERVICE"!! Some folks in the service business have no clue what that is because they get comfortable!!!

I've never had a problem with Jerry's but I'm clearly in the minority. Lake Charles Marine's service manager would never call me back. Ask for Melissa at Jerry's.

longcast 08-08-2011 12:17 PM

Sounds like dhp. I have had more problems with my trolling motor after I got it back from them. It's been in their shop at least 6 times for the same bs.

Sent my old Kenner there once. I was pleased with the service and speed that they fixed it. Only took a week in the middle of the summer.

No it was really nothing serious. Went in for an oil change, and told the service mgr abt some other issues i was having. I'd smoked my trolling motor plug and my trim button on plug board was sticking. Also was popping a breaker when I turned on my live well pump. So this guy commences to tell me "You have a MAJOR problem" blah blah blah. Told him 5 gal bucket handles live well, and just unplug trim and let wires hang...I got that from throttle. Well he fixes it all and doesn't give me the common courtesy of a phone call to tell me what damage thats gonna cause me. So I ask him to show me what cost me a fortune...his reply "Well we're gonna have to pull it all apart!" My reply "REALLY!?!?!" "Well lets get to taken it apart!!" Ok so the trim don't work...trolling motor plug I have to kick to make work...and I can p e e harder than that "bran new" live well pump does!! Can you say Railroaded!!

SaltyShaw 08-08-2011 11:14 PM

That's some chicken shat boss

Sea-Trac Offshore 08-10-2011 06:11 AM

Trolling motor plugs are pretty cheap depending on which ones. Trim button sticking? Is it a Merc? They are famous for sticking on the controls, razor blade trimming fixes that. Live well pump, 95% is snapping in a new head and 2 heat shrink butt connectors. I would ask to see old items that were replaced. Does not sound right. Sorry man. Hate to see stuff like this

Yeah thats what Jake said that the live well pump was a snap in snap out job an that they put it to me charging me 2.5 hours for the job. They showed me a live well pump that had oil all over it like they grabbed one outta pile. Thang is my Blue Wave is an 09...bought in dec. 09 from these very same people. I have no "oil" in or around the bilge area. Wonder how the oil got on the old pump and new pump is spotless...you would think there would be oil on the new one too...the mechanic supposedly handled both. jus sayn BTW Lake Area Marine caused this thread!!!:pissed:

No it's a Sizuk...but cleaning my boat my brush hit the trim button damaging it a lil and it would stick every once in a while....then it got stuck while I was on step and it tried to trim my motor outta the water:eek::eek:...it was time to get that fixed.
