im goin to the camp in toledo bend form sept 6 though 11th .i know its low.fishing out of pirates cove.hadnt been since full moon in june.has any one been, are heard any thing.

Went this past weekend... We fished the patroon cove, san miguel and san patricio... I fished a swim senko under surface weightless while it was hot and top water while it was evening hrs. Also fished superfluke across the grasses. Seemed that all fish were in the grasses so find some and should be fine. FYI the water is still super super low, we hit stumps in boat channel, just be careful.

Don't trust the boat lane markers, the only safe place is in the river channel.

I talked to a guy today that lives there and said he's catching some fish, but be really careful cause it's dangerous low.

guy i know was idiling and knocked his prop off...coupla weekends ago

yes, that's where the house is and we are learning the area from Indian up to Mill. If you are interested in fishin there I will post how we do when we get back, there is a nice boat launch there too.

Heading to the bend tomorrow. Won't be fishing just drinking beer and kickin back.
I'll take some pix off of our pier and post when I get back it is lowwwww

thanks weedeater sounds good.i mostly fish round pirates cove and r camps at kites.i do go south but kinda nervous bout goin to far with the lake level....

His camp is at kites but im sure he'll be launching at Pirates if its high enough..

Boys I live there and my bass boat isn't touching the water! I'm fishing out of my gator trax mud boat. If you run anywhere you better have good insurance! Every lane out there even in the river people are pounding stumps. I suggest you idle if you go. But good luck and be safe!

had some good days in pirates cove this yr but beware if you launch there about the end of the ramp

ive been thinking bout leaveing my bass boat at home and take my ol surfacedrive out there.

i talked to the people at pirates cove they said u can launch up to a 24 ft party barge there with the lake like it is.

I think they are stretching it a bit, me and Merc seen a pontoon boat back in April on the trailer hung on the end of the ramp.

I was telling Ob at the Tackle Box about that this week.

If the lake drops about another foot or less the launch at pirates will be unusable. That launch is good til 161 and the lake is around 161.45

What about Fin and Feather ???

We were getting a group together from work to head that way after the first cold front ...

Is there enough water to putt around and fish in marsh rigs ???

Yeah, we were talkin bout how i talked to a few guys last week that damaged their boats runnin the lake. One had knocked his lower unit off, another had major hull damage and almost broke his arm. it's dangerous low. :eek: be careful up there yall!

From what I see that launch closes at 162', if you look at

I called them a week ago and "she" said they were working on the ramp and lanes ??? Not sure exactly what "she" was getting at but they were still able to launch boats...

Might have to do a recon run up there before our trip...

My mistake....Pirates is good til 159.5. Lake is at 161.38.

I have a big $ tourney there next tournament season. If it doesn't get up more, I won't be fishing it.

If it doesn't get up any more, no one will be fishing it. It will just be a river pretty soon.

Just got back from camp at Toledo, launched my 22 ft. Center console at Pirates, no problem, hit 3 stumps in boat lane in 32 ft. Of water while idling around towards main lake. Be careful.
