Went and followed Spectator today to Mae's Beach. We didn't do well, so Tightline11 and I left for Holly Beach.
Caught 2 limits of nice Trout and 3 Reds on opening night Sand Eel Jr's.

Lotsa Lady Fish to deal with, but lotsa Trouts too.
We brought in a fish on almost every cast.

WOW!! Very Nice.

We were down there about a month ago and the water was dirty. Tried the rocks on the west end of the beach but didn't have any luck. How far out did you have to fish? We ran up the road and hit about 8 dozen crabs though, so we still had a good day.

We were throwing between the rocks, where it is deep. And on the ends of the rocks.
Few Spanish Mackeral cut our floro leaders too. Too far out past the rocks and they cut it clean.

Nice haul. Is the limit still 15 if I drive and wade the beach? or is it 25?

Saw a boat just like yours about 3 sets of rocks to the East of us.

That rod is 8' long. Billy Stix spinning rod my brudderin law gave me.
It was fun, light rod, light reel, light line, light lure = heavy duty fun.

Limit is 15. That is a 2 man limit with 3 Reds mixed in.
There was a kayaker next to us. Raymond Little came out there after we left.

just rode down to the beach to see what the wind did to the water. It was chocolate milk with the wind blowin 15 out of the south. Just a heads up.

JUST LITTLE FYI...If Ray caught that many trout......a weekend trout hunter will load up

I went with Chris. I was invited by him.

On Fri., we must have seen 30 or more guide boats from the Big Lake area.
Few passed us on the way to Johnson Bayou. Few went offshore.
The rest started at the first set of rocks and strung out to the West.

2500 Stratic CI4 loaded with 12 lb. mono. and 1/4 oz. jig head.
If I cast it too hard, I could sling every inch of line off the reel.
Scary to see just the knot on the bottom of the reel. If'n a big
un got me at that point, no mo line on that reel.

Heard it wasn't too good this morning on the beach.

Most definitely was not for us, only caught 3 dinks

Yeah no doubt, water was decent at daylight but got muddy fast
