Fuel Mileage??

Im sure its been asked a hundred times on here but....can yall give me a little idea on what the ford/dodge/chevy 1/2 ton trucks are gettin on fuel. Preferably no what the digital gauge always says but actual miles/fuel. I have a tacoma but really have the want to get rid of it to get a full size truck. Thanks in advance

Ray 09-01-2011 06:48 PM

I have a new Ford F-150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine.
My wife gets 21 mpg in town and 24 mpg on the hwy.

Kenner18 09-01-2011 06:58 PM

05 Ford F150 17 highway 12 town. Dont let a trailer hit the ball ,you lose 3-4 mpg instantly.

Miles and gas pump volume.

Ray 09-01-2011 07:12 PM

I don't get the milage my wife does, but it is close.
She is very easy on the pedal.

barbarian 09-01-2011 07:16 PM

I just traded in my 2010 F150. I had the 4.6L V8. I got 18 city / 21 hwy. But when I hooked my 23.5' cc, I only got 9-11 mpg.

mcjaredsandwich 09-01-2011 07:48 PM

I have a 97 dodge 1500 5.9L v8, I get around 9 or 10 in the city.

CajunSaint 09-01-2011 07:58 PM

Raymond 09-01-2011 08:22 PM

Find a dealer of each and take one home for the weekend and then choose. Bolton will do it so use that on Navarre or all-star , mark. 2011 fords have the most free-board of any trucks out there.

2004 Chevy, small V-8 21-23mpg. I don't know what I get in the city. I stay out of cities.

Wide Open 09-01-2011 09:08 PM

05 Dodge 2500 5.9 diesel, 4x4 , 35in. MTz's cool air intake, superchips flashpaque tuner, 373. rear end. 19-21mpg highway 55mph to 65mph. 16-18mpg 70mph-85mph. 13-15mpg city, and 14mpg with any 22-24ft. bayboat in tow. All real world calculations, not the lying computer in the roof, that would be more like 23-28mpg. yeah rite!

Ducktrickster 09-01-2011 09:15 PM

Don't know how you guys get such high mileage. Had an 02 dodge 1500 5.9 litre averaged 12 over the time I had it. Now I have a 2010 chevy crew 4wd. In about a year and a half, my computer reads 13.8.

all star rod 09-01-2011 09:35 PM

I have a 2011 chevy 1500 crew cab 4x4...18 on istate and 13 city. Hard to believe the fords get almost 25 on the istate even going 55. Pulling my boat I get 11 to 12.

I have an 08 z71 4x4 (don't know if his is) but i've never seen mileage over 17 even straight interstate. I got about 15.5 interstate and 13-14 city and about 11.5-12.5 pulling our 19ft nautic star.

The only time i saw over 17 was driving 65 on interstate for half the tank.

Finfeatherfur 09-02-2011 07:35 PM

I have a 2010 Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 4 door, with the 5.7 Hemi, and as a few on here can attest, I drive it hard. I get 14-15 on overall average, but it drops to 11 pulling my boat, and that goes to 10 when I am pulling it in a hurry.

Now, with that said, it is a hoss and a pleasure to drive since I have the get up and go of a diesel when I am pulling my boat.

Dude did u see the word ABOUT??
If we wanna be exact I'll calculate next time I put $90 in it and I'll get back to u boyz.
Going down hill I get 45 mpg and that's pulling a boat...

Deerfarmer 09-02-2011 08:33 PM

I have a 2011 Ford F-250 Four door, 4 wheel drive with the 6.7 diesel. I get 19.5 - 20.5 on Interstate empty. 17 - 19 in town empty. 10 - 12 pulling my 10,000 lb. fifth wheel camper. Depends on terrain. Very pleased. I have nephew that has the Ecoboost. He loves the truck and loves the fuel economy. Trying to talk my wife into one. His truck gets better fuel mileage than my wifes V-6 explorer. It also has more towing capacity than my son's 4.6 F-150 4 X 4 and better gas mileage.

Fresh Water Skeeter 09-02-2011 08:41 PM

My 2002 duramax is doing 20-21 on hwy doing 75 and 17 in town. Have a quadzilla stealth 2 programer set on extra 70 hp.

Andy C 09-02-2011 09:34 PM

It all depends on how heavy your foot is. Don't matter what you drive.

what grade of gas do you put in truck?

swamp snorkler 09-03-2011 09:18 AM

I have a crew cab GMC with the small V-8 and get right at 19 MPG on non-Ethanol gas. This is driving 20.6 miles to work everyday on 70% 4 lane highway doing an average speed of 72.

Now with plus i burn a little over a quarter there and back crusing bout 60-65. look at it this way we were paying 3.80 for reg. so why not pay 3.60 for nx grade up rhigher and get better gas/ performance out of ur vehicle.

Mileage

2005 GMC Sierra crew cab. 5.3 l engine. 3.23 gears (i think). 15 mpg in city. 19 on highway. 10 mpg pulling a 24 ft Skeeter bay boat

Ray 09-05-2011 07:14 PM

Wife filled up today. Run to Vidalia and back, 24 mpg again. Checked with onboard computer and gas pump/milage and calculater. Both showed the same milage.
She is thinking about taking my new truck and selling her Murano. If she does that, I might get me a used Jeep to cat around in.
