People swear by his clips |
Shaw hooked me up one day with one..very convenient for switching hard baits...top water to suspending. No more cutting and tying. I like them. Benefits people who dont have a lot of rods and reels.
|
Norton are hard to get lures on. But they will never come off either.

May be able to find them local. But just for reference. |
I've had several larger fish break the Nortons. Don't like em. I use a Tsunami brand clip.
|
Ive had several reds mangle the nortons while fishing topwater. Never lost one on a fish though. I have had corkies cast off using them also. Not fun watching a $10 bait flying through the air without lline attached.
|
I use nortons on topwatersand have caught plenty big reds and decent trout on them with no problems. I will not use them with my suspended baits I have lost crazy croakers and corkys to them like above said they just fly off or come off underwater
|
X3 on the Tony Clips. For me, they are easier to use when hooking on a topwater vs any kind of swirl clip.
If they can't be easily had in Louisiana, shoot me a PM and we can work something out. I work one street over from Fish and Tackle Unlimited. |
I use the nortons on my topwaters also , but have had the same issue with crazy crokers comming off. I was told to put a split ring on the suspended baits and it would solve the problem. I just aint got around to tryin it yet .

Get in on This!!!!
I found a pack of Tony Clips in my garage last night. They come in packs of five. I will mail one clip to the first five interested members that post a quick reply and that have not tried them. I am not affiliated with Tony Clips and there are no strings attached. I am doing this for the hell of it. Come on! |
I'm in for 1

I have used Norton's a good bit and never had an issue with any lure coming off.
It is so dang hard to get a lure on the ones I had, I don't know how anything can come off of them. I got some made by Quick Swirl or something like that. Pretty good on topwater but sometimes have issues with the line getting caught in it with a popping cork. Comes with our without swivel. 140 lb. test. They were free, so I don't have any issues with using them. But I think Norton is betta. I use 12 lb to 15 lb test line with light reels and light drag. Not worried about them breaking. |

I use tonys or nortons. I had 3 quick swirls break from different packages and lost over 50 dollars to them. Plus the quick swirl customer service sucks.

I can't believe it happened again!!
I hooked another fish with a Tony Clip. I open this reds mouth and saw the Manic Mullet just laying loose in the fishes mouth. Crazy!!!! |
Ray I have both tony's and quick swirl. Both were bought at Daley's hunt and fish. I use tony's on the popping cork and quik swirl for hard bait's.
|
Quick Swirl clips are at Dailey's. I've used one on the Kick A Mullet, sure makes it a breeze to change baits. Tony's clips have the ball bearing, great for spoons. FTU in Houston has a large selection.
|
I can tie a knot faster than most can swap a bait on a quick clip....
|
Friggn midget majician But I've seen him do it. Clips are for many reason's an advantage to sum of us that have lost the abilty to use our fingers espescially when they get cold. I've yet to straighten a quick swerl 140 lb test.I quess I've not caught a big enough fish Anyway to each his own poison.
