Fresh Water Skeeter 09-24-2011 04:31 PM

Mine was very high strung, and my wife hated him cuz he was always digging up her flower beds or digging holes in the yard.:shaking:

Finfeatherfur 09-24-2011 06:12 PM

That teal sure looks water logged!!!! Were you playing "fetch" with the dog and the bird, because it looks like it was used and abused! lol!

Very high strung ain't the word. But he has calmed down ALOT since they took his manhood.

whunter29 09-25-2011 12:51 PM

Damn dink I thought you were posting some nasty pics on here with that title.lol Your dog looks awesome.

biggun 09-25-2011 01:15 PM

Hi Guys!!!

I'll be catching the Milk run back to PHI in Houma. I'll be in for 7 days and come back for only 6 days.

Where are the Trout in VB Speck-Chaser? Give me a call this week.

I had a WEIM. for 13 yrs during married life. He retrieved over 2000 ducks and geese in his lifetime.

Was the Smartest dog I known. Its like when t otalked to him he's turn his head and give you a look like Yes I understand.

I also had a Field trail champion lab, with a GREAATTTT Nose, and a desire to please more than my wife.

But "Thor" had a world record nose and didn't loose a cripple ever. He just could NOT take the really cold in the marsh. He was awesome in the rice field. MISS HIM ALOT.

Gunner

swamp snorkler 03-18-2013 06:12 AM

I seen you post that on FB. Sorry to hear that Tim.

leblanc272 03-18-2013 11:19 AM

your going to think I am crazy, but there is a Vet in Lafayette that does Accupuncture on dogs. My wife had a 13 year old terrier mix that lost the use of her back legs and would drag them around. she worked for this vet, and brought the dog in and the dog regained use of her legs and lived another 5 years. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't paid for it.

Hate to hear that. Im going through that with one of my dogs. She is 15 years old and we have had her on medication for three years. The meds worked well at first, but now she is pretty much on just pain meds. She lays in the sun and I bring her the food. My daughter came home from college last weekend though and the dog was like a puppy again. Running all over the house.

Raymond 03-18-2013 03:57 PM

Suggestion; If you plan to bury her at your house, have someone else dig her grave.
Have your vet come to your house to do the shot. Let her eat anything and everything you never did before. Take plenty of pics starting now.

Dink 03-20-2013 10:33 AM

Just left the vet...... $2500 to fix, or $1000 to cut off the leg, or treat with supplements and pain med for life.......

No more huntin or cart pulling for her......

BassAssasin 03-20-2013 12:55 PM

Man that's tough dude.

DUCKGOGETTER 03-20-2013 01:14 PM

Sorry to hear that man

hankscke123 03-20-2013 02:39 PM

What was official diagnosis?
Would get a second opinion from Andy Plauche or PM me for a good one over here that shoots straight. My experience with most Laffy vets is they are most concerned about your money and less so about your animal.

Dink 03-20-2013 03:27 PM

Ruptured ACL. (Dogs don't actually have an ACL, but same concept) The noise I was hearing is the leg bones hitting together in her knee.......

She said its a pretty major surgery that should be done at LSU. She said she wouldn't trust anyone local to try it........

Dink 03-20-2013 03:31 PM

Visit today with xrays and 80 worth of meds was $209. I was very suprised it was that cheap!! And it was first visit. Weve never used that vet before. I was figuring closer to $500

Don't trust LSU ! Our chocolate lab went in for what they said was a minor shoulder surgery and they effed up and killed him! And charged us $2700 to do it

They'd have a hard time collecting that $2,700 from me.

I have a 3 month old lab pup, and I want to bring her to a trainer. Are there any good trainers around the Crowley area?

Edward Thibodeaux is The Best in your part of the World, I would not recommend anyone else there. If you are serious, my number isn't hard to find on here. Please do your homework, there are many with websites and shiny trailers that would have trouble training a rocking horse.

Tim, pm me for a referral to a training buddy vet that has experience with ACL surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
