X2. Ate some chili Saturday night at my sisters. They had fished all day and I had worked on my boat all day. Long story short we had just chili and no rice. It just wasn't the same.

I eat Chili with Fritos and cheese when offshore.
Chili out there sux so bad, it needs something to
flavor it up some. Been eating chili on Fritos since
I was in Lil League baseball. They cut the bag
open along the side and pour chili on the Fritos
and sprinkle with cheese. Then get a suicide to
drink with it.

the rice acts as a "filler food". Makes you full faster. I eat it over fritos, rice, spaghetti noodles, etc. I like rice the best !

It's also a staple in homemade vegetable soup. First I time I made soup for my then wife many moons ago I started a pot of rice. She says whats the rice for? I said, well cause we are having soup. And she says, soup with rice? I said who eats soup without rice, dats like gumbo without rice. Apparantly i was the only one raised up eating rice in my soup. Course once she tried it she liked it.
