11/27 Solo hunt
 

Not as many birds as I was expecting but still plenty of new birds down. Got 4 greys, 1 redhead and 1 "black mallard"...my first banded bird!!!!!!

Thanks guys. Anybody heard of someone killing a banded grey duck?

banded greys are rare. Talked to a biologist at rockefeller when they were banded heavily. The said they very rarely caught greys in the traps. The greys would swim out of the traps when they pulled up instead of trying to fly.

I thought they were rare, never hear of anyone killing any.

I have heard of some people killin banded greys. I saw one someone had killed one day. They band pretty much everything. Hell I killed a banded fulvous whistling duck some years back. But they band a lot of mallards and bwt

Cool. I was just wondering cause of the amount of greys we been killing this year.

congrats on the band ....i read somewhere last season that 1 in 10 mottled ducks are banded....i killed a banded drake last season

I get pumped everytime I kill one for that reason.
