well me and a buddy ended up putting a box of bullets through my gun today and I must say I am very impressed. This gun is very solid and will cut a pine tree down quick and also throw lead down in a nice little group....I am very happy with this setup.

my 30-30Marlin has been my carry gun but I think I will be leting it rest and start carrying this thing more, its compact and no nonsense so perfect to pack in the woods around here with a climbing stand

I agree, plan on buying one for next year. Time to retire the ole smoke pole. They are pretty heavy but not too bad.

I work with someone that has caught them on sale a few times in different calibers and he now has 5-6 of them, after shooting mine I am gonna watch for them to go on sale and get some different ones also

I have the 45-70 also and it is pretty accurate at 100 yards. I topped with a Nikon Buckmaster. I use the lead sled to sight it in so the kick doesn't bother me. I was grouping three shots withing 3 inches at the range at 100 yards, which is good enough for me during primitive weapon season.

What does the 70 stand for on a 45-70?

I think it used to refer to the powder load at the time.

Hornady Leverevolution is now making a 250gr compared to the 325gr should be alot easier on the shoulder. I will try them.
