Knife Choice
 

So today I found myself fixing the tires on my brother's car and boat then I found myself deboning 4 deer legs that my brother's neighbor killed of all possible meat with a 3 inch Kershaw Quick Flip which took forever. So about halfway through, I started wondering what you guys use. My ex brother in law used a 4 inch Buck and a lady friend uses a 3.5 Gerber Paraframe with a semi serated edge. So what kind of knife do you guys use fixed blade or folding blade and what brand?

what do you guys use for blah blah? THE END. DONE. FINITO. Everytime i read an IM thread i feel like i am reading outta the funny page in the newspaper.... dont know whether to laugh or burn the damn newspaper.

For skinning I use a Gerber Gator, not the serrated one. I like the rubber grip so I can bite it when I am skinning.

Use a plain jane filet knife for deboning.

I know a trapper that uses a cheap flimsy paring knife for skinning all his animals. He likes it because it is flexible and when you lose one you just spend $3 and buy another.

I feel like anyone with under 1k posts takes this guy seriously. If you do a search of his threads, its always a tactical or weapons system upgrade. He said somewhere he was 20 but carries a quickdraw that never leaves his side. Hope you never conceal that, cause that would be illegal just like the bass you kept mr. Law enforcer.

Never use a skil saw to cut a rack off a deer! Did this once and, it was pretty mafia! Smells terrible too! Lol

Are the blades on the havalon very durable? and can u resharpen them or do u just have to replace them?

I use a 6" inch fish filet knife for deboning deer meat. Works awesome!

I use an outdoor edge knife for skinning and a filet knife for deboning.

These make for excellent throwing knives also. Many of us assassins use these when the enemy must be apprehended at close range.

Those are nice because they have an armor piercing point, for when you need to stab a tank.

SHH! Lol the seal broke against the rim on the car and the tire on the boat had a welding rod in it so I had to pry that out with my knife.

I have some cold steel knives. My skinning knife was stolen when my truck was broke into. I loved that knife.
