trailer tires

I need to get some new trailer tires. Where's the best place to go around Lake Charles? Mine are 13". Is it better to get them with the rim or without?

PaulMyers 12-05-2011 08:01 PM

I'll get you some info when I get home in the morning. Tires and wheels would have cost me 112.00ea so I just bought the tires, mounted on my wheels for like 90.00 for the pair.

Thanks. I'm going to Lake Charles tomorrow after I get up so I might check around while I'm there.

I just can't remember the name of the place where I got the tires. Blake picked them up for me.

That's a great idea, but I've got a better one: You give me your tires and rims and I'll give you mine. I'll even do all the work swapping them over. :smokin:

You should be making rounds right now instead of surfing the internet.

Where are these from? Sounds like a pretty good deal.

I&E techs and truck drivers must be makin some jack, I would have to go buy a new boat and finance it if I needed tires

scott craft 12-05-2011 09:41 PM

Thanks. They've got some good prices. Can't compare to other places because most are blocked here at work.

I have searched all over and this has been the cheapest i came across

A year ago, I called several places in the area looking for two 12" trailer tires.

I ended up getting them from Service Tire across the street from Market Basket here in Moss Bluff. It was only a few dollars cheeper if I drove down to Lake Charles.

I think I paid about $ 88 total for two tires.

I buy all of my trailer tires there and they treat me well and have decent prices

scott craft 12-06-2011 03:13 AM

I've never bought trailer tires at Service Tire, but I've bought tires for my vehicles there. I really like their customer service.

oldwelder 12-06-2011 07:07 AM

Tires

Southern Tire Mart in Sulphur has good prices and good service.

BigChaf 12-06-2011 09:46 AM

I bought 13" tires with galvanized wheels ready to install from Jerry's Marine for $79.00 a piece, may want to call them for a price, that doesn't cost anything.

scott craft 12-17-2011 08:29 AM

At recstuff.com the shipping on tires and rims is $48, so I'll be buying local. Service Tire and Southern Tire Mart around both around $125 to get two tires and mount them. I'm going to call around some more and hopefully Tuesday morning I can get some.

Are the tire shops quoting your the same or equal quality tire? Carless tires are considered by most people to be a low quality tire. I was happy with the Carless tires that came with my trailer....got 6+ years service from them.... and a fair amount of miles.

I don't remember the brand from Service Tire but they weren't Carlisle. I don't know if Southern Tire Mart told me the brand they quoted me or not.

should be Load Star tires, I run them on boat and utilty trailer with no problem and they get overloaded on trailer often.
