Sandhill sighting in Sweetlake
Saw about 200 or so sandhill cranes today on the corner of pine pasture and arceneaux. Quite a sight to see. Parked and watched for a little while. Sorry for poor pic quality. didnt want to get too close.

Cool man!!! I could've thrown a rock at the ones that flew over me the other day(I wouldn't of course). You was scared a Warden was hiding around there waiting for you to get too close? Just joking.:D

I have seen them three times this year around Vinton. All the flocks where around 20 or so birds.

They get in that area south of holmwood every single year I can remember. They are like clock work and it's always pretty much the same field. You can bank on em being there every year.

Those things are fun to hunt, and eat very good, I have bagged several over the past few years. They decoy well.

I saw them there about 10 years ago. Ever wonder how they get back every year to the same place? How about a deer coming to the exact spot where you hit the horns or blew a grunt call? Or, the big gobbler that finds you, within 10 steps of that yelp you made on the box call 20 minutes ago? Mother nature is bad a $ $.

Yes! Lol I wonder all the time. Every year when I see em there I wonder not only how they find this small field in holmwood every year but also why that field?!
