weedeater 12-21-2011 06:41 PM

what is the big deal with guys that wade vs a guy fishing from a boat..... I personaly don't plan on getting out of a good dry boat to walk in the nasty water we have here but what is their advantage?

mriguy 12-21-2011 07:49 PM

If somebody wants to jump in the water I say go for it!

1fastmerc 12-21-2011 07:55 PM

jpcajun 12-21-2011 08:03 PM

same with the weirs.... who cares if you fish there... still gotta catch a slot red.

Big Kahunaz 12-21-2011 08:04 PM

Ha....I was just reading a post the other day from June of '09 about "should live bait be used during tournaments and the fact that waders weren't allowed .... (many thought/think) it should be just the opposite. These issues will only continue to end up a circle jerk.

Top Dawg 12-22-2011 07:53 AM

Yes. How bout boats shouldn't be allowed in tournaments. Not everyone has access to a boat but er'one can wade!

longcast 12-22-2011 08:17 AM

I don't understand why it's ok to fish off the bank or in a kayak but it's not ok to wade. There is something wrong with this picture.

The people that are opposed to wading are generally the ones that are too short to do it.

He hasn't mastered the art of wading on stilts. :-)

And are at the mercy of me in my boat!!!!! Most wade because they can't catch out of a boat so wading gives them a good excuse to have a few fish ......main reason why Texans wade...they can't fish out a boat

He must be standing in about a foot of water.

"W" 12-22-2011 10:05 AM

When I wade.... I only do it because I'm board of catching out of a boat.....

I'm gonna call bull **** on this one. Just saying.

Btw you still do not have a legit argument why wading should not be allowed. Maybe you should do some research before you post dumb ****.

Ray 12-22-2011 11:05 AM

When I wade, it's only to push my boat off a reef.

Is wading allowed in any organized tournament ? Other than a wade only event?

Any body who competes in fishing will tell you.... Wading is not allowed and due to the fact they get the advantage by not having to use anchor, trolling motor, net,not spooking fish with boat.....nobody who pays big money to fish will want to compete with someone wading.....when I fish for a check... I believe everyone should be on the same level...wading has a huge advantage due to not drifting and no boat noise....

This is not a big money tournament. Lol. You said you only wade after you caught all your fish.then u should have no worries Wading is no different than fishing out of a yak or off the bank. The trophy trout series allows anglers to wade or fish out the boat. The only reason your at a disadvantage is your short stature. Ha. Thank you come again when you have a bettere argument.

Actually, not to take the Midget's side, but he has a very good argument going. Regardless, MOST tournaments do not allow you to leave your boat. However, I could care less in this tournament.

"W" 12-22-2011 12:19 PM

I bet if KVD could wade flats on bass tournamets he would be deadly

When you "fish for a check" you are at a disadvantage to start with.

So get out of your boat. It's simple.

"W" 12-22-2011 01:07 PM

I have nothing against wading... It just should not be allowed in compation....

Wader will not win the redfish event anyways but still should not be allowed.....

PUREBAY2200 12-22-2011 02:02 PM

W, u have said numerous times that wading don't produce bigger fish.
Example- " I have caught my personal best out of my boat"
" my top 5 fish are out of the boat"

Now with that being said, why are u opposed to waders in a tourny??
If u truely believe what u say- wading don't produce bigger fish- u should beg people to wade against you in a trout or redfish tourny.

I believe that 100%... But in a tour you should have the same level

if your fishing on a day where trout are easy spooked....Who will have the advantage???

Wader...

Day wind if blowing 30mph...Who will have the advantage?? Wader

So everyone is wading cool...if everyone is in a boat cool

Should not split the field...

3- 5lb trout beat one 9lber

so its easy to catch some nice trout wading ...on bad fishing days.......

where I have caught my Top 5 trout ...you can not wade due to soft bottom you would sink.....or 6ft of water

longcast 12-22-2011 02:19 PM

Excuses are like *******s. Everybody has one. It's not a advantage if everyone is allowed to do it. It'd only a disadvantage to you Bc you be short yo. You should have eaten your weeties as a kid. Lol.

That's the main reasons I've been against it :)
