Might check The Tackle Box in Sulphur. O'B should be able to hook you up.

thanks for the shout out Paul, but as Ryan said, shimano stopped making the e7 in green. they now make the e7 in white/black and renamed it chronarch ch200e7. same reel, different paint, $20 more than it used to be when it was named curado.
as others said, you can still get green cu200e7's on ebay from 134.99. |
Thanks guys, I have been hearing good things bout the lews, I may try it out
|
Acadiana Outfitters in New Iberia still has a bunch of green 200 e7s.
Ask for Casey and tell him Dave sent you |
I seen one at Walmart in Lake Charles, but the price was $199.

Anyone else have a Lewis reel?
|
Yeh I do When it was new it out cast anything . Only problem is corrision program need's serious attention.Lot's of surface scale on reel and finish discoloration. Might be better for fresh water.

My fiancé got me one for Christmas from Academy on Louisiana Ave.

I have both reels; just received another Lews for Christmas. Hands down a better, longer lasting reel that the E7. Clean both often; not salt water friendly! |

Curado is saltwater resistant. I get mine cleaned once a year.
My surf rod always has sand and salt inside the reel. I just rinse with a light spray and wipe down with soapy rag, then rinse again. Reelman says it's best to not rinse. Just wipe down with a 50/50 mix of water and Simple Green. |

They are way more resistant to saltwater than any other reels I have used, including Penn.

I love my e7's i have a fleet of 5 and would like to aquire more :-)
Great reels!!!!!!!! You should know this bassassain.....I always outfish you with them |
the way I clean mine is every 6 months or so i take off all of the line and soak the reels in warm water for 15min or so to let any crud either disolve or losen. after that i take them apart and let them fully dry. Then I use shimano lube and reel magic to lube and polish them up nice. I put a little more viscous reel oil on some of the Major gears then put them back together....respool......and fish. Been doing this for years and all my reels cast better then out of the box.

They still got a few stores with old Curado's and they are around $120 to $130's.
Lew's is ok reel they cast good when you 1st get them then they fall apart. I had 6 of them when they 1st came out in 2009 and wow everyone been back to Lew's atleast 4 times until I finally sold them all. Really a Johnny Morris reel with black paint and tear drop handles.Wouldn't put much stock in Lew's lasting that long if you inshore fish. Save the money and buy a Academy Mettle similar reel just better built. |
Heck yea they match my buff.....Look Good........Fish good. Put you bait where your Mouph is :-)
Oh by the way you will be happy to know that I now have two other performance shirts other then my luck SC Blue one......which by the way also matches my gloves and buff......lol |
haha, take a pic all decked out and make it your avatar. maybe even ad "U Mad" on it hahaha
