Looking for info on shotgun sights. any recommended brands?? red vs. green dot preference and why?? Have any of u seen improvement with these sights??

Jordan 12-28-2011 02:36 PM

red tru-glo. Improvement in shooting?? No.... Improvement in seeing the bird, yes

Top Dawg 12-28-2011 02:46 PM

Just buy one next time you go to Academy. Got a red one on my gun, it helps when I take my time shooting, but so does taking my time...

FF_T_Warren 12-28-2011 03:18 PM

this new high dollar speed bead thing is supposed to be legit. supposedly helps you shoot alot better. my buddy tried one and said it really did help, but for $200 I think I'll stick with my truglo

Top Dawg 12-28-2011 03:36 PM

Omg $200 lol das a bunch. Not supposed to aim a shotgun anyway. U point a shotgun. Unless u bout to smoke a turkey.

SaltERedneck 12-28-2011 03:38 PM

dude you should've seen ole Joe Comeaux pluckin them ducks outta the ozone... I havent seen shooting like that. WOW. I would never take the shots he took but he crunched em.

MKBord 12-28-2011 03:59 PM

I just bought one and tried it out of curiosity. I don't even see the dang thing when I shoot. The one I got is reversible...tried the green and red side. If you already smacking them, I say don't waste the money.

that sob can shoot period! It really is amazing. He shoots a modified choke with 2 or 1 shot. He said he just leads them about 6 foot and when he hits 1 he just leads them all the same distance and he rarely misses. He missed 1 about telephone pole high and he said it was to low for him that's why he missed. I watched him last monday shoot one so high that when it hit the water it's breast was split, and that was with a plain modified choke with 2 shot and it was stone cold dead before it hit the water.

Not enough room for 2 exceptional shooters in one blind, so he never takes us at the same time....

lol!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember how high that widgeon was that you killed. Take that and add about another 30 yards that's how high he was killing them suckers. Some of them suckers took at least 3-6 seconds to make it to the water.

Asterisk-Rich 12-28-2011 04:42 PM

I shot a single teal from the hip this weekend.

Champion EASYHIT... The long version. They come in different hole diamaters. Its a long tube like site that when you are looking down your barrel properly. U can see inside and you see the colored plastic insert. It comes In green or orange. Just google it do a little research. They are the BOMB. Well worth the $20 @ lafayette Shooters.

YOu can order them online also.

It FORCES YOU TO LOOK DOWN YOUR BARREL.

specktator 12-28-2011 09:12 PM

Those Burris Speed Beads are pretty sweet. I saw them on Duck Commander TV a while back, looked them up on eBay and saw they were $200 and put the x on that.

My bead on my SBE is all smashed and u can hardly see it. Don't need dat.

No, you're not alone. I rarely even notice the red bead on my barrel. When I do see the bead though, I'm skull cappin!!!

However, I shot with no bead for a few years and it really makes no difference.

Asterisk-Rich 12-29-2011 09:24 AM

Had a buddy in Utah that had a shoelace tied over the barrel with the knot on the top and that is what he used. Wish I still had the pictures

LOL, I was gonna say if you need a site on a shotgun then you haven't learned to shoot yet. I think 3 of my shotguns have the bead broke off. No big deal. My main duck gun don't have a bead and them ducks still die.
