Monster killed at Tensas
 

There was a 42 point non-typical brought in to Hunters Bend campground last night.

Go to Facebook and like hunters bend campground for pics. Bow kill and pics don't do it justice.

Are they seeing a lot of deer up at Tensas right now? I might like to make a bow trip next season.

Usually from around Christmas till mid January is the rut here. Lots of deer being seen until the weather warmed up.

And is am always looking for someone to share a trip and expenses with.

I'll see if I can find him. I do know that Bayou Bucks will be publishing the story.

Next season it's on....will have vacation time to burn. Tensas has a good heard of deer,some of the prettiest woods in louisiana.

I'd like to try my luck up at Tensas myself. We should all plan a bow trip next Jan.

It is a huge area,gotta scout alot do be successful.

I got picked for lotto but didn't go. Went to Jackson bienville instead. We smoked them there this year. 11 deer and 5 hogs.

You have to love those years.....that's a nice haul.

I have hunted it before and yes it's a huge area. So damn big you don't know where to start.

Yeah I rode a trail on my four wheeler for 15 miles one way and marked 20 spots on gps. The ridges between the lakes looked very promising.

Yes but you have to stay on the atv trails....place is way too big to not allow atv's.

The man who killed the deer is from Starks. Last name is McCloud. He is well known for bagging big bucks up there! His wife teaches at Vinton High.

The deer can be seen on bayoubucks.com . It has 28 scorable points and scored BnC of 222. WOW!

Awesome deer. Huge deer come out of that place every single year yet the number 1 gripe they hear are 'we need antler restrictions':)
