New Running Shoes
I am in need of a new pair of running shoes.Does anyone have a suggestion? I am rather particular to asics, but was wondering if there was something better out there... I have extremely high arches and would like something with good support. Also, I will be in the Lake Charles area this weekend. Where is a good place to look for reasonable prices?

Nike free+2. Best running shoe I've even owned

Minimus by New balance /vibrums. There are 3 styles. Take a look at them. Plus it depends on how long your running , and what types of surfaces you are running on. Check those out!

Disregard the Minimus, being that you have a high arch. Those won't work. Unless u like the bare for approach. These will be the way to go.

Meant to say Tri-Running not Ti. Check them out. Great people and great service. I thought I knew what shoe I wanted until they fit me, I went with the Brooks and have loved them ever since. Your feet will thank you. They got shoes for any foot style, arch, or width. |

Depends on what you are looking for. Minimalist, Stability, Cushion.
The new rage is a minimalist shoe. Theory is to mimic the natural motion of the foot. This type of shoe is not for a heel striker. There are several brands and I agree to go to a professional running store to test them out. |
Where is it located?
|
Southeast corner of prien lake and Ernest.
|
Definitely Tri-Running...they don't just sell the stuff, they live it.
|
Crocs keep it real
|
look up vibram fivefingers. barefoot running is the way to go.
|
they also have Tri Running in Laff
|
One more vote for Tri Running in Lafayette. They have you walk around barefooted and can tell you if your foot pronates a certain way, need more arch support etc. Once they figure this out, they give you shoe choices that should fit your needs and running style.

I get shin splints on the regular, so any type of asics with their gel soles helps me a lot. The only shoes i use when running

I thought that is where the Allide Tire store is located! |

Yep. Same corner. Used to be a scrap booking store. I stopped creating memories in the form of collages and started running. Here's to hoping it doesn't turn into a purse store.
|
How are their prices? I don't want to spend a fortune!

Most start around $80 and up to around $140. They have several on sale for cheaper but once again the reason for getting shoes there is the custom fit. I saw several shoes I liked but after trying them on hated the way they felt. They will let you try on as many shoes until you find the one you truly love. Trust me, an extra $25 is worth it when it comes to comfort of your feet. You will be glad you spent the money after you have a shoe that is fit to your foot. Try them out- the fitting is free and at least it will let you know what kind of shoe you need to look for. |

I went to Tri Running Saturday in Lake Charles. It was our first stop. I ended up buying a pair of Brooks that I am in love with! It was the most awesome experience and the man helping me really broke it down in terms of what the different levels are. It was between the Asics, Brooks, and Muzinos. The Muzinos were extremely nice and I can see why they are so highly recommended now. But the Brooks had more support and fit better. When the day was said and done, I called everyone to let them know how cool of an experience it was. Thanks for the recommendation boys!
