found out today that two of our famliy members graves were involed in this
My 1st Cousin Todd Keeth and his Grand Paw both were damaged

I would love to beat the living hell out of all 3 of this kids with my bare hands then boil some hot grease about 400dg and pour it on there face

Jennings police say three suspects have been charged with felony desecration of graves in two weekend incidents of cemetery vandalism.

Jennings detectives, Jefferson Davis sheriff's officials, the district attorney's office and the Acadia Sheriff's Office coordinated efforts. Arrested were Sebastian Abshire, 19, and Dacota Miguez, 17, both of Jennings, and Joselyn Mire, 18, of Evangeline.

Vandals used red and blue spray paint to damage tombs, headstones and the mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery. The cemetery is located off of La. 97 in Jennings. "They even broke the windows here at the mausoleum and left footprints on the doors," said Jennings Deputy Chief of Police Danny Semmes.
Semmes added, "My heart goes out to the families who have to come out here and find out that their loved one's grave is damaged."
In nearby Hathaway, family members witnessed a similar scene of vandalism at the Doucet Cemetery off of Grand Marais Road. Vandals at the Doucet location knocked headstones over and scattered many pieces of memorabilia.
The Doucet Cemetery vandalism investigation was to be conducted by officials with the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Department. The Greenwood Cemetery case was being handled by the Jennings Police Department.
"We are asking the public to please help us out. This is a senseless crime. Please put yourself in the shoes of these family members. If you were working at a local store and sold red and blue paint to some people, let us know," pleaded Semmes.

My cousin Todd died 4 years ago tomorrow and my aunt is signal and just had knee replacement ...now she has to deal with this carp..
My dad is good enough he said he would take care of the damage but that's don't make it better..her son was 38 years old when he died and its hard on her with out chhiit like this...



I would love to get my hands on that long haired kid and mop the road with his face....

Sorry to hear about this - and I know how much this can affect people. My grandma used to get worked up when people would steal flowers off of my grandpa's grave, and this sure as heck is way worse...

I'm sure they will get to know that cemetary very well....... If I was the judge they would clean and maintain it for years! F-in idiots need the **** beat out of them!

My wifes Grand Pa had his Bronze WWII plaque stolen off of his grave. What's sad is my mother in law doesnt want to replace because she knows its going to happen again.

My question is what srap yard would buy a WWII plaque from a crack head. Any buttmunch with half a brain could tell it was stolen.

Man, I had some jacked up ideas when I was a kid but, this was certainly NEVER any part of em! I feel bad for all the families who have to clean this up.

Jeremy, sorry to hear of your relatives graves being desicrated. My dad is in that mausolium. Kinda make ya want to do something to get the opportunity to spend the night in jail with that POS.

First of all I would like to say that I am sorry for the people that were affected by this terrible action of other people. If there is going to be a day that the people involved or the community gets together to try and clean these grave sites, please let me know as if I am available, I will gladly help restore these people's place of rest.

Secondly, I would have to diagree with the waste of sperm comment. My son has made sever bone headed decisions during his younger years and it was not from lack of me constantly having my boot up his butt.....Kids grow up and make stupid decisions but as parents we never quit loving them.

I am not defending them by any means because I totally believe that if you do the crime, then you need to do the time.

Bottom line....again, I am sorry this has happened to y'all's family and if there is a clean up day please let me know as I would love to attend if able and help supply clean up supplies....

Update to this story:

I was told today by a lady in Jennings that her damage estimate to her family's grave plot is almost $30k. I can not imagine how difficult and painful this must be for a family to deal with.

Furthermore, it has come out that at least 2 motorist or residents in the area reported hearing or seeing something. Not that this would have made any difference, but please pass this along to your family and neighbors ......... "if you see it - say it". In other words, please help your community out by calling your local law enforcement agency anytime you see or hear something that is not the norm. Even if it turns out to be nothing, it may be the break a department needs to catch something in the act of some criminal activity.
