simplepeddler 03-03-2012 02:04 PM

Dude......I can assure that if I brought that home a Belle's birthday present I would never get to "use it" again!!

Dink 03-03-2012 02:08 PM

Ill have to use it for awhile......needs complete brake overhaul, steering is FUBAR from the columb to the box and on to the front end. Needs alot of work!!!!! But, ive been wanting a project like this for awhile. And She LOVES this body style!!

weedeater 03-03-2012 02:09 PM

SaltyShaw 03-03-2012 08:20 PM

Thats awesome!!
That thing will be sweet with a little work

Dink 03-03-2012 08:51 PM

It'll take months just to get it driving down the street right. Then off to.Corey's place. The body is as bad as the rest of it......its got a 390something AMC motor, and was covered from manual to auto trans. The whole thing is kinda rigged.....example, the clutch peddle is still there......should be fun!!!

I've got people for that too. Purchase price is everything in this situation. That being said, I've seen those go for $30k+ fully restored!

Duck Butter 03-05-2012 11:26 AM

Looks like someone was frying fish in that spot it was sitting:grinpimp:

Raymond 03-05-2012 11:41 AM

Had a 77 Scout II like that in high school that I turned over several times. Extremely top heavy and narrow, mines had a 345 with a 4 barrel carb pos traction rear end and it would swap ends pretty quick.

Dink 03-05-2012 12:13 PM

Went by there again this morning. Were close to a deal. Its pretty much a basket case..... ALOT of work to get it right.

Carb needs rebuild.
So does steering box. Then needs to be mounted differently.
Not sure steering linkage is right either.
Brakes top to bottom. Major issues here
Wiring is atrocious!!! Not sure what they were thinking???
Got the wrong size wheels on it. Calipers are cutting grooves in them.
Etc, etc, etc.........

T-Bone 03-05-2012 12:17 PM

They just reposted it on LASportsman around 10 am.

Dink 03-05-2012 12:19 PM

Really? What they asking for it on there?

eman 03-05-2012 02:16 PM

I think they been smokin crack rock!!! $6990 for something that needs a total overhaul???

Dink 03-05-2012 02:34 PM

Ouch!!!

bmac 03-05-2012 03:03 PM

$6995....
That's alot for the work it sounds like it needs.

Dink 03-05-2012 04:16 PM

Like all women, the silent button you get to apply when they're elated about something you bought them is only temporary!:rotfl:

Dink 03-05-2012 04:54 PM

Raymond 03-05-2012 05:08 PM
