Where the fish are.

Here is a rare report and some advice. I have been catching multiple limits of flounder and trout on the south bank of West Cove. The flounder are hitting white Gulp swimming mullet and the trout on top water mostly. The flounder are stacked in the cuts with a few reds and trout. The bigger trout are around the point were the pipeline hits the south bank. About 29 degrees 50' 46.18" N 93 degrees 24' 33.17" W The 2 best cuts are west from there with the far southwest one being the best. It has a small pier so its hard to miss. There have been a few trout on the north bank of West Cove but not as many as the south. Also the east bank seems to be holding no fish. I have no pics but many people are asking for help on were to fish so here ya go.

Thanks for the detailed information Jason. I'm sure that will help more than a few people.

Aslo another good spot where the fish are is

Joe's Cove (not joking) I have caught trout in there this week also....

Make sure you go with High Tide

#1 on the map is good for a west , south west wind for big trout
and they have a cut that comes out of the south part of the cove and its stacked with Reds,Flounder and Trout when lots of bait gets there..
Drift this bank and you will catch trout

#2 on map is a good big trout and red spot. Fish this points with moving tides and also fish 30 to 40 yards down the rocks on the north point of the rocks. You can always catch reds here

#3 Is BIG TROUT HEAVEN.... (thank Evis for this TIP)
There has been two 9plus trout come out of this spot in the last few months with one just last week on topwater... Need high tide and beat the bank real good .... Best winds are South /South East

You will catch fish here

and also the dead middle of the cove just north of cut is a good reef that hold trout also

Good Luck

"W" 03-03-2012 06:59 PM

I will post more spots as I find them

SaltyShaw 03-03-2012 07:00 PM

I have been getting back to my roots enjoying freshwater more myself. Trout fishing is too much drama with people cutting you off and potlicking takes the fun out of fishing.

Glad somebody see's it like that. Hell tournament fishing doesn't even have this much Drama.

I do like the redfish chasing though too now..

X2 I dont see why so many people go nuts over trout. Untill they get 4 pounds or better it feels like your reeling in a wet rag.

SGib 03-03-2012 07:54 PM

Lol keeping everyone west side I see. Preciate that. Ha

dude you act like you was going fish there or something..........

If you can't fish any of that area with this wind and catch fish..

UR THE MAN
Sunday...West winds 5 to 10 knots. Lake waters a light chop.

"W" 03-03-2012 08:07 PM

And here is another thing........ Who cares what people say or say where fish are... you have to catch them anyway....

I can catch trout all over the place right now so if someone told my spots for a week ..I would catch trout in a new place tomorrow...

Lord yall flipping out!! Im sure Evils is fishing Joes Cove and is wanting to push people out of his Hole to another...

Do you really think if he was fishing this area he would post GPS Coords

COM ON MAN

inchspinner 03-03-2012 08:09 PM

No im gonna lick the pot in someone elses bowl... Read my text all top water....told ya that 3 days ago dub

mcjaredsandwich 03-03-2012 08:10 PM

Yes heaven forbid someone actually post up where they fish, the conditions, baits, etc. Why be a part of a fishing forum if you are just going to get mad at someone for posting their report? Now I am not saying they're where evis posted. This could be just to throw everyone (lurkers) off but don't get mad at the man.

This isnt panning for gold. Its fishing.
