swamp snorkler 03-12-2012 03:17 PM

I heard around 10+ inches but not 100%

swamp snorkler 03-12-2012 03:33 PM

Wow, about 3 years ago I was picking up my kids at my babysitters house, well the rain started soming down really hard so i just stayed in there so I wouldnt have to take the kids to the car in the rain. It rained so hard her house flooded with about an inch of water. From Bone dry to flooded in no time. It was the first time her house flooded and they were in it for 30 something years. The power of rain is incredible.

adamsfence 03-12-2012 03:36 PM

Country Boy 03-12-2012 03:57 PM

Tried every possible way and can't get through, if it would stop raining and lighting I would walk through to see just how deep it is

YellowMouth7 03-12-2012 03:59 PM

rustyb 03-12-2012 04:57 PM

I hope everyone is ok there.

I haven't seen it flood like that since i was a little kid. I think it was '80 or '81. We lived on that street a block from where Country Mart is now. we had 2 feet in the house and the house was on 2 feet off the ground.

For real though after Rita a bunch of houses flooded on Lincoln road only because the entergy trucks were going to fast and their wake was getting water in houses, kinda like that fire truck is doing.

southern151 03-12-2012 06:38 PM

Man, I sure hate to see these images. My heart goes out to you all that live in the area and, if there's anything I can do, my weekend is pretty much freed up. I can be there with a small crew of men to help.

Good luck and dry floors!

BassAssasin 03-12-2012 06:56 PM

And most of the areas aren't in a glided zone. Buddy I work with got flooded and he has no flood insurance like most in his neighborhood . Really sad

Finfeatherfur 03-12-2012 07:21 PM

I am 45 years old and have never seen I-49 flood over like it did today! Luckily, I was able to move around and take some roads to get home in Crowley before noon. Some people are still stranded.

Country Boy 03-12-2012 07:38 PM

Made it to my home to pick up my dog and everything is good, no water inside but the neighborhood looks like a lake, my cousin had to come pick me up on his jacked up 4 wheeler cause there a few deep spots but leaving for the night , thanks for the offerings

Ratdog 03-12-2012 07:54 PM

evidrine 03-13-2012 12:20 PM

Had to pass through Cankton to get home yesterday because they closed down the Hwy I live off of. Lots of people flooded out down there. Vehicles parked in their yards had water over the hoods. Had a lot of people haveing to park on the hwy and take a boat back and forth to their homes. A lot of it was still that way this morning.

fishmaster911 03-13-2012 01:32 PM

I live just before cankton the water has droped 2" since 10pm last night.
