1 Attachment(s)
Moved in last thurs; been fishin 4 times no fish untile tonite.
My bro n law has caught a few and my bayouchub hooked a nice one yesterday evening.
But I was still waiting for my first catch.
Got home about 7 and hit the pond.
3 cast I hooked into my first bass n the new place.
Was throwing a watermelon crawfish with a 1/16 Texas rig.
Soon as bait hit water line started to move..... I waited , then loaded up!
Bam!!! She was full of eggs.
Almost lost her on the bank; called the wife and told her to walk down and see what I caught!
I love the new house and our new fishing hole!!

Congradulations on the new house.
Looking at that picture I would say you have a lake.
IMO.... in a pond, you can cast out to the center or farther. If you can't do that, you have a lake.

So what your saying is, when I head over, I'm better off fishing in the pond than pre fishing the river lol.

That's an awesome fish! Working on a 1.5 acre pond myself. The goal is Florida Bass in the range of 8-12 lbs. Feed, feed and feed is gonna be my motto. Fathead minnows to start with lots of threadfin shad later on. Hope it works. I would love to catch 5-10 bass the size of yours every afternoon.
