Power pole
Hey guys.
I fish mainly in Prien lake and the southern end of big lake, My question is if it is worth it to spend the large amount of money to get a power pole. Seems like too much money when i can just use the trolling motor to stay in place or not be a retard and quietly use a anchor. How about you guys that have them, are you happy with them? And wile i am here do any of you know where i can order some 3" Berkeley ripple mullets? I catch most my fish on those, way more than the 4" alives, but they been on back order for a long time on cabela's and can't seem to find them anywhere else. I will not own another boat without a shallow water anchor of some sort
I say yes definitely worth the money |

I want one bad, but can't justify the money. I hang my anchor on a cleat over the side of the boat, when I catch a fish, just kick the chain and I am set.
I will say with my neck and back issues, I may get one though before it is all said and done. |
Thanks for the input so far guys. Yea i am a bit of a tight *** but really thinking about getting one. Was hoping y'all would talk me out of it. LOL.

Somebody asked if I liked mine, I told them if I bought a 12' bateau it would have one on it!

I use mine in Big Lake a good bit.
Can't find a place in Prien or Lake Charles that catches fish, and is less than 8' deep. |
Makesure you get the buttons you mount on the front deck for up/down functions. When you get a blow up and have to try and keep a tight line and mess with a remote it's tough. Remote is worthless really if you have the foot buttons, unless you are wading with the wind at your back. Then you can pick the pole up an let the boat follow you.

The Seamonster wireless switches are the bizness

I have had both the Talon and Powerpole. Like these guys I would not have a boat without an anchor system. I will not buy another Talon, mine is in the shop right now which is the third trip...

10' PowerPole Blade!!
The 8' Blade is nice as well but that extra 2' is extremely nice to have! |

I have a Talon. It makes a lot more noise than the Power Pole. Power Pole is very quiet compared to the Talon.
Talon sticks down in the mud very good. But it sometimes needs help getting out of the mud. The motor is weak. Makes too much noise. I would not spend the money on a Talon again. |
I have both the powerpole and a talon. The talon makes a lot of noise compared to the powerpole.

Thanks for the input. Guess i will have to come off the cash and get one when i get back to the states. Well at least i got a week to decide where to have it put on at. I know i can do it myself, but this don't seem like something i want to fool with.

Ive said this many times, I don't care if they cost 5000 well worth it

1 thing I didnt see you guys mention.... my buddy has the wireless on his Blazer Bay. When he has to launch his boat by himself it helps when tieing up to the dock. He noses up to the dock, hits the remote for the power pole then gets out the boat and ties it to the dock and it stays a foot or so off the dock.

It takes too much room in the launch. I tie up the bow and drop the Talon. |
Here is a cost effective way to get similar results as a power pole. It's what I call a manual power pole. Just slide the anchor pin through the eyelet of the short rope, or the mounted bracket and push into the water bottom. No need to throw it in the mud like a heavy cajun anchor. Check out the website below. I think they have videos also...this is what i use...

Getting a white one for the bass boat. I'm pumped. It's only a 6ft but I can't pass up the deal. If I choose to add the remotes later, can I? It doesn't come with them...
