Best Weekend in a while.
I had to work to Friday till 3:30. When I got off work I came and made 20 catfish noodles. By the we finished making them and going to get a bite to eat it was 10:00 at night when we started setting them. We being my 6yr old son, flatbottom and myself. Being this was our first time setting jugs there was a learning curve. We finished up around 11:30ish. We got back on the water around 7:15 because somebody overslept and it wasn't at my house. We checked our lines in the cove with only catching a decent size softshell turtle. After some convincing I got flatbottom to throw it back. After a count of noodles we had three missing. After an thuro search of the cove off to the river we went a searching. Found one under a dock bout a mile down river and another about a 1.5 down river. The second one had about a 2lb cat on it. The third is probably in the Gulf by now.
Went back Saturday evening with 40 noodles and chicken hearts and night crawlers. Came back at 10 that night to check em and came back with two decent cats and one throw back. Went back this morning and had one throw back and one noodle missing. We let my son pull in the only fish this morning. A couple of my noodles was attacked by a very small gator last night. Which made it the highlight of the morning for us. It didn't take much this morning. I've enjoyed the time that I spent this weekend with my son like never before. I'm finally getting to take him on my little excursions. We are going to try to do it all over again next weekend.
Oh and ran into Hydro while we was out there. One day we going to have to make a trip together.

Benefits of living in Moss Bluff, atleast 5 boat launches within a mile or less of your house and you can be in saltwater within 5-10min of launching on the river:D

Benefits of living on the river... On the water in 5 seconds... saltwater in 5 minutes. :D
This year has been the best year in a while for catfish on the river.

You are closer to a saltwater launch by a few minutes but how you figure you're closer to any launch. Just when I thought there was hope for you.
