What did everyone cook/eat today for Easter?
 
Just taking a survey of all the good food cooked and eaten today.

Here was my lineup: BBQ Chicken (Pig Stand Sauce, of course), boneless pork backbone, Bush's maple beans, Bush's Jalapeno beans, rice dressing, garlic bread, homemade peach cobler.

Miller Lite to wash it down with!

Fresh sausage in a red gravy, sweet tater casserole, garlic bread, a few cold Heineken's....and a tub of bluebell in the freezer. It was a good day...

fried fish, hushpuppies, hamburger, fries. yesterday I ate some fried soft shell crabs and fish. I never ate fried soft shell crabs til yesterday and I can't wait for the next time I get to eat some, they were good.

Feed around 3500 people with a staff of 23 cooks. 1500# crawfish 300# shrimp, 150# pork loin, 150# leg of lamb, 250# brisket 200# each of tilapia, salmon, catfish, and rainbow trout. 300# ribs, 300# of brisket, 15 prime ribs, 30 turkeys, and 8 bone in hams. Plus all the sides and trimmings to go with it.

Btw I met my girlfriends parents for the first time. They are Vietnamese and man they can cook. Had boiled crawfish, steak, salmon, salad and sides. All except crawfish was made with different seasonings that we never use. It was awesome. I hurt myself.

Growing up I had a few vietnamese friends and them folks can burn the pot, pot sitckers, pho, srping rolls, fried rice, but my favorite was an asparagas and crabmeat soup I had a wedding i went to for one of my vietnamese friends.

We had backstrap wrapped in bacon, hamburgers, cheesy dogs, ribs, chicken, chicken wrapped in bacon, boudin and pork loin. My mother in law made a home made red velvet cake from scratch, pork in beans, potatoe salad, garlic bread.

Had some deer & pork sausage stuffed backstrap, deer & pork sausage, deer & chicken sausage, deer burgers, chicken burgers, regular burgers, hot dogs, deviled eggs, macaroni salad and a few desert items. Broke in my new burner with the griddles, had it rolling for 1.5 hrs and it never missed a lick. I see A LOT of cooking on it in the future!

So jealous.
We had Fried catfish and sac-a-lait, frech string beans, mac & cheese made with left over queso dip (never had it before, but damn good) and black eyed peas, and fruit salad.
