Hey Chris put your game cameras to use. I caught a guy from Moss Bluff poaching my land with one. And wouldnt you know it the guy was well known. Owns a business that he could of easily afforded to pay for a lease.

hankscke123 04-09-2012 11:20 PM

Good idea I'll break one out and put out in the am like I said I'm catching way to many fish only ones I'm keeping is the flatheads if any need a mess message me

DUCKGOGETTER 04-10-2012 12:17 AM

Man i hate to hear this, and i hope you catch the sob's!

It's always been like this Chris. Just because someone has a boat does NOT make them a sportsman. My kids know if I ever find out they have run someone else's line I will bust their behind! I don't care how old they get. But they also get frustrated when someone picks up their lines too so hopefully that will give them a better respect for the other mans effort. I used to enjoy crawfishing but it has become such a PITA because of people running your traps or stealing them that it's not even worth the effort. Not to mention what I might do if I caught someone running my traps. I understand how you feel but think long and hard about doing something you might regret later over a few fish. It's difficult to enjoy another day on the water from a jail cell. That's what keeps me out of trouble. Just get their boat numbers or the liscense plate off their truck. Let the law do their job. If they don't tell the people around town what the've done. One day they will run the wrong mans line. Good luck, have fun be safe and catch lots of fish.

Had the same problem with my jug lines on the red river...only difference is they kept the fish and lines and just cut the line and threw the jugs in the river. Definite low lifes! Solution, I started tying them off at the base of the saplings near the water and flag them about 10ft away from the lines. Damn shame it has to come down to that.

papap 04-10-2012 01:57 PM

Chris what are you using for bait? If you do not mind me asking. I would think it was crawfish.

Raymond 04-10-2012 03:39 PM

Settle down Chris, your post looked like RatDog typed it.:D

elebouef 04-10-2012 03:42 PM

And just think Popeye is selling produce and not fishing any more, but he might of taught someone else how to do it.

A few years back, we had anti-hunters sabotaging our deer hunting. Taking a dump in or near deer stands right before opening day, vandalizing our deer stands, etc. We got some pictures with a game camera, but law enforcement did nothing.

I also had an animal rights activist "rescue" (steal) one of my dogs while it was chained to a doghouse keeping the deer out of our pear orchard. Law enforcement did nothing.

Hopefully, you will solve your problem and those stealing from you and giving you grief will get proper justice. I sympathize.

A friend of mine in the basin caught a guy running his crawfish traps on his game cam in the basin... Made mini posters of the clown and put them at all the landings :D...

That is sorry. When I was a kid my dad had the same problem he used to always wake me up tovrun lines with him, well for about two Weeks he never woke me up and wouldnt tell me why. Turns out he was waiting to catch a guy he knew was running his lines.had a 25lb cat on and heard a boat coming so he twisted the hook and and hooked the cat again making sure it wasnt going anywhere. Fired up the motor checked his other lines came back and it was gone....then passed some guys in a boat eith a big cat that "they" caught and had my dads hook in his mouth... So he waited at the boat ramp for them and some words were said. Never had a problem again. I guess being 6'3" and 260 has it advantages

hankscke123 04-10-2012 09:03 PM

Hey hanks I fish Lake Arthur quite a bit and launch at Molezaun. I have a black ford 4x4. And run a 15' modified v with a mega on the back. If u see me on the water show me where your lines are and I can help u keep an eye on them. I fish strictly for sacalait and personally don't care anything about catfish, but I hate when folks run and or steal my yo-yo's, so I feel ur pain. I should be there bright and early Monday morning. Good luck and I hope you catch em.
