Power Poles and Oyster Reefs
I know many of you have power poles. I know they work really well chasing reds in the shallows, but how do they do if your fishing oyster reefs. It seems like they might have a hard time getting through the oysters to get a good stab into the bottom. ( I know, that's what she said)
|
Reason I dont have one....NO THEY DONT HOLD ON REEFS...Just Drag and make noise.....
POWER POLE is useless in my eyes. |
they will hold on reefs when it is not windy, which is why they dont work well on big lake reefs ;) lol. I love mine even though it doesnt always hold on reefs the other times I use it make up for that.
|
i wouldn't be without my power pole, but on the heavy oyster i use a 10' po-pole. it's 1" dia. and will bust through the shell(with a little effort) i've got po-pole mounts on the bow and stern, so i can position any way i want. i make the po-pole, so i,ve got em' all over so i can show people how they work. Never had a problem with mine holding on Reefs in BL. Even on pretty rough days.

Power pole with wave stabilizer will do you wonders! Once you fish with power pole u wonder how you fished without one.

Not true....I fished with one for a year in Davids Black Jack......Much rather my anchor Rue Has 5 boat with them and i have never seen them down one singal time I can recall |
They don't work at the jetties....
|
love mine never had a problem with it not holding except when fishing the beaches and big swell come and lift the boat deeper than a pp will reach but they make a wave tamer or stabilizer you can add to it which gives it more movement or reach when deployed in rough water

Half the time that Power Pole didn't work on David's boat, to be honest. Love my Powerpole. Amazing for bass fishing. |
I never herd someone with a power pole say" damn I wish I hadn't put this stupid thing on my boat"
Now the electrical issues with em are different. |
Well I know 1st hand anchor is better, its holds in 1ft - 20ft
...so why have a power poll when your limited .... Them with my anchor I can position any way , with a power pole your limited to one way, Anchor holds on any surface........ So you will never see one on my boat and matter of fact I think the Poe,s took them off some of there boats |
Well if u know it 1st hand and say power pole is junk then I guess this is a dead issue and power pole has convinced a few boat owners to spend 1500$ on a piece of junk.
Lmao x 10000000 Powerpole marketing = WINNING!! |
Can't position with one power pole? Get two, if too expensive then get a stick it for the front and hold your position. Bass pros will even admit they love their power pole.

Power Poll=pilgrim device

W, is right.... Who Needs a power pole when all u fish is a 4 ft deep pond......Now the rest of the guys in south LA could definitely benefit from a power pole.
|
Quote:
Yea you right. Thats why just about all of the elite pros, and FLW pros have one. Getting on a school of fish without spooking them with anchor noise, being able to move quickly is overrated. |
powerpole works period. they will hold on a reef.

W don't like power pole cause it's taller then him...... Even b4 it's deployed.......
|
So I hope one of you with a power pole is dragging across a reef this year scaring all the fish....because you can't hold ...
Don't get mad when I crank up and figure 8 that reef because some dummy was to lazy to set the anchor but insisted on dragging and dragging his power poll.... Then when he can't get it to stick....will troll back up wind against the waves and try again Can't wait..saw it 50 times last year |
so throwing a metal anchor into water and hooking into rock is more quiet than a 3/4inch fiberglass pole?
|
ok, all u guys with a power pole please go meet w next time he goes fishing,
w take em to a reef, a hard bottom reef..... let them deploy their power poles and then see if they stick thru the reef and hold the boat....... |

I would say the figure 8 . I know you dont care about anyone else when it comes to your fishing. And Im not trying to call you out or start crap, before this gets out of hand . Its just not always a good idea to always be an Arse . People make mistakes .

maybe he is just trying to slow his drift:help: & dont worry about spooking fish..... |
Quote:
Bottom line....too many clueless people and if no one gets on there azz they will keep messing people up..... I don't mess others up....I respect everyone and you don't see me burning banks cutting drifts or motoring up on boats |
Quote:
w thinks that everyone should know the "rules of fishin" and if someone dont know those rules and gets near him...... well its just easier to cut figure 8's and look like a hard arse then troll over to em and xplain what they did "wrong" and educate them on how to fish properly and respectfully:work: |
Quote:
dont see you giving seminars or videos to help educate new anglers as to proper techniques or respectful boating  but i do hear about you cutting figire 8's then havin to apologize......:help: |

Quote:
.......this is not everytime.....but when I get to that point.....i will go find more fish..... |

In no way taking sides but I understand W's point! I've fished by myself a many day on BL & had folks come by & see me on fish & totally screw up my bite!:pissed:
It happened to me & him (W) fishing the SC tourney last year. We got on a decent bite & some dudes trolled right in the middle of our bite & screwed up everything!!!!!!!!:pissed: Ask Jude! He was a 100 yards from us. Believe me the guy was told what he did wrong & he wanted to get pissy. Both of us were ready for a fight! Total disrespect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love speck fishing but don't like the A holes that come with it or maybe it's the lack of knowledge! Don't know why but freshwater fisherman seem to have alot more respect for one another. |
