It was reported a couple weeks ago that the approach area was going to be resurfaced soon.

at least with it being closed there won't be any turdhead kids running around stealing and vandalizing. with that being said....that place has the potential, wish someone "could" strike a deal or the heeeberts would lower the rent on it.
I remember growing up as a kid going there to weigh in for the shoot out and they'd have that joker filled along with band playing outside...good times. Miss the food at harbor lights also...thought it was worth the wait (pontoon bridge) to eat some decent seafood on big lake. Wish someone would drop the cheese and open up a Papadeaux's or Landry's around Prien Lake Park. Hell, just a local owned great seafood restaruant on Prien with boat slips to pull up in....live music on a huge outdoor patio overlooking the water. Man i'd be a regular! When i lived in galveston the old hooters used to be a local owned seafood joint that was actually built on a peer "Ocean Grill" if im not mistaken. That place was awesome...eat seafood...have a few drinks and look out across the gulf at the moons light on the water with a stiff south wind. Man im reminiscing! lol sorry...carry on! |
The only way Heberts could stay open is if it was supported by the parish government. The government is the only people with money, IE Calcasieu Point. It is a beautiful landing, just a little to far north for my slow boat.
