Taxidermist 7 Pound 10 ounce Speckel Trout
This will be my first mount, who would yall recommend. Price really dosen't matter.
Thanks in advance |
Steve German's in Westlake.
Marshland in Lake Charles |
about how much is something like that?
|
Steve German in Westlake they do really good work on trout I have two from there.
|
Marshland taxidermy on kirkman street in lake charles....12$ an inch they did one and currently are finishing another up...both do great work...
|
I hope you really don't mind the price if you bring it to the Germans. I looked at some of their mounts, and some were good and others...well not so good. I'd look elsewhere.
We are also looking for someone. I think I'm going to bring ours to Mike Landrenaux from Bayou Chicot. He mounted my bass and it came out super awesome, looks like the same fish exactly, but the only bad thing is that it doesn't have a lifetime warranty. Our trout were caught in Vermillion Bay and are very dark tinted unlike most Big Lake trout, which are more white and gray, and so far I haven't seen any mounts were the trout were dark tinted so it makes chosing a taxidermist hard. I wish you goodluck in the search of a taxidermist |
Marshland x100. My bass is the best Ive seen.
|
Never mounted a fish but Marshland did an awesome job on 2 deer for me and at a great price compared to Germans.
|
Buddy just got a 7 pounder that he caught with me this February back from taxidermist in Lafayette, Henry Barker. Came out very nice. I will give him a shot on my next one. But I hear German is top notch. Have seen a few of his mounts and they look great.

Rock @ marshlands has done a couple trout for me and I am very happy with the fish. Don't see how they could get any better as long as you preserve the fish properly. Always brought mine in ASAP. Here's the one I have on my phone. I've seen a lot of trout mounts that'll have a squared belly To me that isn't natural. Found a pic of one with a squared belly. U can see what I'm talking about |
German will be doing my first 8lber fa Sho!
|
:cry:Sorry LCD that pic I sent you looks like crap, did not do your fish any justice, lousey, POS , BBerry phone, sorry.
|
Congrats on the fish!

I had my first mount done back in '98. The dude that mounted it still used Plaster of Paris. The job turned out fantastic, but, we literally had to build a wall to hang it on. The fish weighed 9.81 lbs. The mount......about 70. :smokin:
