Mad people 2
Just saw some real mad people on the news. Dey mad!!!
Why
Because the weirs are closed. It was the guys that got arrested for shrimping.
Said they are doing what they have to do to make a living. And that they have every right to shrimp at the weirs....
They mad. Lol. Like really. MAD.
If there going to allow commercial fishing(guides) behind the weirs why not commercial shrimping. While we at it lets lease out some duck blinds.

The first idiot even starts off by saying "i know i did wrong".

Both my grandfathers grew up in the depression. They wouldn't hear a thing about size and creel limits. If they caught or killed something, it was theirs. We're in the "Great Recession", these guys are just tryin to L.I.V.E.
that big "Refuge Closed" sign has been on there forever now. If those gates are open, and that sign is there like it always is, anyone know if you can go back there? I've seen people do it, but never knew if it was legal or not.
They are on video right next to the weir... You can see the front of the boat. That's another ticket
A couple months ago while fishing/crabbing at Grand bayou wier there were 2 guys fishing inside the signs. After they caught there limit of Reds they left. About an hour later they returned to "their" spot and caught another limit of Reds each.
I sure wish I had taken a picture of them to compare it to thoses 2 in that video. |
What's up with halls news??? Theresa Schmidt ?? She was wearing a plaid table cloth shirt?? I thought news anchors wore suits??

I diffently would be interested in purchasing a commerical permit or whatever to shrimp and crab behind the weirs when it's open to the public. Can always use a little more gas money.

well, its a hard subject to grasp. but if you are open minded about things its easier to see the big picture. yes its hurting the fisherman at this moment, but think about long term. you leave the weirs open or take them out, the marsh dies out and turns into open water. whats the reason the shrimping has been good in past years? what do shrimp feed on? dead vegetation? a dying marsh eqauls lots of shrimp food. a dead marsh equals open water, subsidence, erosion, and the end result would be no food for shrimp and prolly hardly any shrimp. not only for the shrimpers, for the fish to eat, and if there are no fish food then there are no fish. i know that is exaggerated but look at the long term affects on the system. the weirs are only trying to be a band aid for part of the system. to help protect what is left of the marshes. look at a natural delta and how it works. like the one that used to be at the mouth of the old calcasieu river..... with out the weirs and the way they were designed to be operated, the cameron creole watershe will turn into a lake with no vegetation to die off and feed the shrimp.
hopefully this wont cause any trouble i just want people to start thinking more open minded about things. i know its hard to. i also love to fish and spend almost every weekend on the water somewhere. would love to fish more but unfortunately i am not lucky enough to do so. so remember this isnt meant to start any drama, just my opinion from an ecological view point. |
[QUOTE=elcamino;445264]They may be trying to L.I.V.E. but they also broke the L.A.W. If I lost my job and started robbing banks to feed my family and L.I.V.E should I just be set free. Of course not[/QUOTE
THANK YOU! |
