fishinpox 06-09-2012 01:02 PM

Not sure the details , but I know the weather is bad and speed is usually reason for accidents in tourneys

Sometimes it is better to call it quits instead of ending up in an accident. A fishing tournament victory isn't worth it

bjhooper82 06-09-2012 02:48 PM

Ouch!! Hope your buddy and everyone involved is ok.

BassAssasin 06-09-2012 04:05 PM

Let us know when you get the details I'm curious to know and some more pics would be sweet

calcutta37 06-09-2012 08:08 PM

Just crazy how do you hit a yellow boat, and if it was raining to hard to see you should not be running. Man that sucks for your buddy glad he is ok

gonzalesdave 06-09-2012 09:10 PM

A different pic and a little more info

mrex 06-09-2012 09:45 PM

Wow that is scary. After I saw that everyone was ok would be pissed if I was on the trolling motor and some yahoo ran into me.

jpeff31787 06-10-2012 08:51 AM

Damn it seems like the ranger jumped his boat. His talon is bent and his cowling seems to be missing... Why would that be if it was just a collision. Just trying to picture it in my head.

BassAssasin 06-10-2012 09:24 AM

Bet the impact alone would knock the cowling off, I can't imagine that

getonfish 06-10-2012 09:26 AM

You really look like an arse when you hit what had to be on of the brightest colored boats on the water.

fishinpox 06-10-2012 03:32 PM

Ok I talked to my friend. He was the angler paired with the boater( yellow skeeter) they went to make a blind left hand turn @ 60 mph and took the outside which is correct (pass on the right) and a boat (ranger) was making a right hand turn and took it to wide . Collided with the yellow skeeter on the passenger side and barrel rolled over the skeeter . The motor from the ranger hit the motor from skeeter while barrel rolling over and caused the skeeter to do a 360 onto the bank . Passenger of ranger bailed out in time driver got trapped but eventually came loose and swam to safety . My buddy was the most banged up out of the 4 involved and broke over $3000.00 in rods/reels . So the lesson learned.... Don't blow around blind corners @ 60 mph

dennissonnier 06-10-2012 03:35 PM

That'll sure ruin a fishing trip. Luck no one got hurt or killed.

bet that was a heck of a sight there. sounds like a movie stunt

jlsch1 06-10-2012 07:45 PM

Easy to do in the spillway.
In 1993 I almost hit a boat doing a similar turn as the ranger.
It was so close I can say I was just frozen for a few seconds after I stopped.
Now I slow down and look both ways.
It is the reason I now carry liability on my both of my boats.
Today with bigger and faster boats on water things like this can happen easily.

YellowMouth7 06-11-2012 11:21 AM

Glad to hear they are ok

Luck comes in all forms...
those boys are lucky to still be here.

Lake Chuck Duck 06-11-2012 11:42 AM

Just a slight adjustment on the trajectory of how the ranger jumped and both of them could no longer be here. Very fortunate.

speck cc 06-11-2012 11:57 AM

people really need to slow down out there... a little common sense goes a long ways! glad noone was hurt!
