PUREBAY2200 07-11-2012 02:25 PM

i could never ever ever ever!!!! pay that $$$$$$ for a 24 ft boat!!!
i would love to see the dealer invoice and what is charged for the extras!!!
whats a base price..... hull, trailer and 300 yammy??? like 70-75??

calcutta37 07-11-2012 03:57 PM

Got a question how much was a brand new 24ft yellowfin when the first started making them like 40-50k. Now they are 115k thats just sick and people are paying it..

skeeter77346 07-11-2012 09:47 PM

Base price on a new build YF 24, 300 Yam (4.2L) and a power pole is $78K and change. The boat in Houston is a resale with 25 hours or so. Owner is getting transferred to Chicago or something. Options can get the price over $100k though. 40 week wait for a new one.

noodle creek 07-11-2012 10:04 PM

ridiculous don't know why anyone would spend that. they aren't that damn special

skeeter77346 07-11-2012 10:13 PM

Sorta like $80k for a new Toyota Landcruiser or the big Lexus SUV, I guess. Just toys. Some are pricier than others. I drive an Expedition, but I must admit the LandCruiser is nicer, for sure. Same idea on the YF 24. How much nicer? The 40 week backlog says a few folks think it is worth the wait. My new YF 24 goes in the mold next week. Call me crazy. :-)

Or, they are terribly slow buildin' 'em. ;)

Big Kahunaz 07-11-2012 10:51 PM

Fella I worked with had ordered an SCB and was a six month wait. Was contacted by another gentleman 2 months out and sold his spot for 16k.

Skeeter: You're gonna love the boat! What kind of options are you adding to yours? How 'bout that Garmin 7212 on the boat listed, those are really sweet! I really like my YF, just wish I could get it wet more often.

Or, they don't sell enough to keep em stocked. Buil on demand.

Dogface 07-14-2012 09:53 AM

Skeeter, do you have a 21 hybrid now and if so are you selling it when you get your 24?

buoy37 07-14-2012 12:59 PM

I do just fine with my $7,500 Blue Wave

Reefman 07-14-2012 01:30 PM

Did you guys notice the under the console wiring in that Yellowfin????? A work of art!. Very few dealers/builders would go through that type of effort in a clean installation of that caliber. You can get the feeling that if that much attention to detail is placed in the electrical compartments most everything else should be of same workmenship.....

DogFace, My 'old' YF 21 in now owned by a guy in Greenwich, CT. Called me one day 2 months ago. Sent my dealer cash the next week and loaded on a transport the following week. Boatless for now. :-(

A few sad pics from that day before the boat was blocked and strapped for transit.

My YF 24 will have a Yamaha 4.2L 300 (10 inch Bob's Action Jack JP) and will be an open boat with no T-Top. Still finalizing the options, but have decided on the SIMRAD NSS 12, Structure Scan, Sirius Weather, a Fusion + 4 JL 770s, amp, VHF, MK 101 Wireless, Command Link Plus, added an 'old school' analog fuel gauge, plus an on/off switch for the sounder box to kill the 'ping' in shallow water marsh ponds. Under front deck and fish boxes will be 'Aqua Mist' to match the side color. The Cap, console and running surface will be 'Pelican Grey' - think YF white (Matterhorn) with just 'half a drop of grey' in it, so it is not too white. A few more tweaks, but that gives you an idea.

Kevin Barker at YF is all about building the boat 'YOU WANT' - he will customize it to fit how you fish. He recently did a riser box 24 for a FL Tarpon Guide and that was a very cool set up.

Pics attached:
1) Console wiring on the Houston 24 that is for sale
2) YF 36 with Pelican Grey sides and Matterhorn Cap
3) Riser box 24 recently done
4) Aqua Mist / Matterhorn with T-Top

A few more of the YF 24s in production.

Gotta like that rigging room - see double doors behind the Marlin Blue boat to enter on foot. Boats enter around the far corner - left turn there to rigging room.

My boat is the bottom pic just out of the mold - Aqua Mist sides with Pelican Grey (white with half a drop of grey) running surface, cap and console. 300 Yamaha 4.2L

Getting a 24.The one just out of the mold - Aqua Mist sides with a Pelican Grey (white with half a drop of grey) running surface, cap and console. All wells will be aqua mist and so will the under front deck storage.

E X A C T L Y.... That is my position at the moment ;-)

But looking at the data since 2005 I have owned an SCB, 3 Shearwaters and most recently a 21 YF - so who knows?

Always tinkering with something.

New camp on Grand Isle will be finished in 60 days - that should keep me out of trouble for a bit.

You been hammering the fish?

Me thinks you'll be looking for a big Contender or other deeper water boat before long from Grand Isle.... Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Yes sir its been limits of trout and reds 2-3 days a week in upper Barataria. The week of July 4th I limited 7 days strait with many more, that went back in the drink to swim another day.
Although fishing is coming to an end for me after the middle of august Its time to get ready for chaseing hair and feathers. It'll be chasing specks and reds after teal & duck hunts, and bass after october bowhunts:(!
What acrying shame:D:D

Upper Barataria. Hmmm, Bayou Self? Or Bayou Lonesome? Ha! Good stuff there.

My brother tells me the pretty water is in close with dolphin under grass mats inside 10 miles. I guess the low river flows help.

Yep, we have a 27ft cat with 200 Zukes, but you're right we might NEED a bigger boat.

Yea bud, Self, and lonesome!:rotfl: lol . My fishing buddy AKA my father went to Florida for the week with the fam, and everyone else seemed to have to work:eek: Fishing by myself is not only enjoyable, but easy not having to worry about making someone elses day perfect, if you know what I mean! lol. But by day number six I was trying to buy a fishing partner near Bayou Lonesome.:) The water is real salty down there rite now, with great visibilty. I could see trout and reds from 20 ft. away coming up to attack a topwater abot 12-16 in's under the water that week. That was great:)
The fishing in and offshore is off the charts rite now. Its been a very rewarding spring and summer for our area.
