Boat cleaning

Does anybody know a good place to get a bay boat cleaned and buffed for a decent price?

fullrutt 07-21-2012 10:36 AM

Where???

davidkyle323 07-21-2012 10:48 AM

oh sorry Lake Charles area

jchief 07-21-2012 11:14 AM

My boat is at Toledo Fiberglass, I know, ain't LC, but I was quoted $400. Should give you a base anyway

fullrutt 07-21-2012 11:23 AM

We detail boats fully for 300 here in baton rouge and that's boats up to 25ft... That's vinyl cleaning and protection, wash, wax and apply a slim safe protectant... Hope that helps a little

PaulMyers 07-21-2012 11:36 AM

I would say between $250 and $300 unless it is badly oxidized, the maybe $400

davidkyle323 07-21-2012 11:48 AM

It's not oxidized that bad, it's more the inside of the boat than the outside. It has rust stains, black marks, blood stains etc. The non skid surface in this boat is the ones that dimple into the boat and it's a pain to clean. I would like to find someone to do a good cleaning then I could stay in top of it after that.

I know a guy in Moss Bluff that will do it at his house. If you're interested, I can get his number for you. Just let me know.

There is a detail shop close to Lake Area Marine that does great work. I used to have them detail my bay boat every April. They were under $200 for sure. Magic clean comes to mind...???

Check Eubank's detail shop in Lake Charles on West prien Lake rd by the Nelson Rd. Walmart. He does boats. May want to call him.

bleach tide and a pressure washer works great, then just apply some polish to make it easier next time.

davidkyle323 08-14-2012 07:22 PM

Thanks guys!!

meaux fishing 08-14-2012 10:52 PM

Bleach isn't good to use on non skid decks from what I hear. It will lead to the material breaking down in sunlight

In Lafayette, A Plus Fiberglass may detail too. They do an awesome job on any fiberglass work and I recently had the topside wet sanded and then waxed and polished. Right behind Home Depot on the thruway

meaux fishing 05-23-2013 11:27 AM

Here's an update for the Lafayette area people. Just dropped my Triton off at JV Extreme Detail shop in Delcambre. They are going to wash and wax inside and out for $250. It's supposed be ready tomorrow or possibly the next day I'll let y'all know how it comes out.

if your boat needs more work than mine it might cost that. Like I said earlier mine is in pretty good shape. Im just getting it done to keep it that way

meaux fishing 05-27-2013 09:46 AM

Got the boat back on Friday...looks great. They cleaned the water stains off the hull the blood stains off the deck and the inside of all the compartments. Boat looks almost brand new.
