pink topwaters

Who likes them? and why? what conditions make you want to use a pink vs. natural color?

Salty 08-01-2012 11:16 AM

For some unknown reason, pink, like chartreuse, is a staple among fish-catchin' colors. Nothing really "natural" about it, but, pink catches fish...especially saltwater.

coastalobsession 08-01-2012 11:25 AM

^^^what salty said^^^

Remember "big girls love pink". Also a pink skitter walk is one of my goto top waters.

meaux fishing 08-01-2012 11:29 AM

send all your pink baits to me I get rid of em for ya... they are no good;)

Choupique 08-01-2012 11:32 AM

I just fish by myself so I never have a duel with a guy using a different color; I’m of the opinion that they all work pretty much equally until convinced otherwise.

kcinnick 08-01-2012 11:40 AM

I don't know what it is, but I have caught more fish on pink/chartreuse baits than any other Color combo.

BassYakR 08-01-2012 11:51 AM

I think its more of a confidence thing. Bc if ur more confident in a certain color u will throw it more. Just my. 02

Fixed it for ya ;)

It isn't just topwaters.......pink is a killer in Venice area. I used to keep a couple hundred of the bass assassins in pink & silver when i stayed down there. One of the guides I know there says he'll throw any color as long as its pink.

coastalobsession 08-01-2012 09:25 PM

@salty: pink and chrome spook looks good

I like the action better than a Spook. As far as sales...I sell them at least 2:1 over Spooks.

SaltyShaw 08-02-2012 04:43 AM

They look good!
I'll have to try one out

Meant to ask you what that bait was as it's one of the best topwaters I have ever thrown. It casts like a bullet and walks the dog effortlessly. Will be picking up some more.

It's called a Jackall Bowstick. It's a Jap blank, so, quality is not an issue. Couple of buddies here that I used to fish with all the time have been rapin' the trout at Delacroix on them 'Sticks. They love 'em. My wife retreived one in the pool and said, "All mine does is wobble."  Best topwater bait I've ever seen.

coastalobsession 08-03-2012 10:56 AM

We sold out of this color when we launched the bait. I agree on the pink thing, especially in stained water. But I don't know why, other than a bright color like chartreuse.

Right now, the hot color is something with gold in it. Croaker... Would love to have a big spook in the croaker pattern.
