I'm 17 and have been in talented art since 4th grade until my sophomore year in high school and have pretty much given it up all together since then. Was really bored earlier so I decided to take out the paper and draw something I'm interested in to see if I'd enjoy it again. So I looked up pictures of bass and about 20 minutes later, this is what I had

I know the photo quality isn't all there, it was with my phone

SULPHITE 08-07-2012 09:39 PM

marshrunner757 08-07-2012 09:46 PM

Dude! That's fantastic!

bgizzle 08-07-2012 09:49 PM

Thats 20 min worth??? Wow dude you got talent...

Geauxtigers1421 08-07-2012 09:52 PM

Thanks guys. And yeah, 20-30 minutes. If I'm bored enough and interested enough, I can get a lot more finished a lot faster. I've had some paintings take months and some take a couple days, just depends how interested I am I guess haha. But thanks!

mriguy 08-07-2012 10:20 PM

Nice work

simplepeddler 08-07-2012 10:22 PM

Need to do some trout and reds. Frame that and sell em. Looks excellent

SaltyShaw 08-07-2012 10:40 PM

Yeh a big trout inhaling a maniac mullet would be sick!

SGib 08-07-2012 10:42 PM

You make a trout hitting a topwater and i buy it for sure. That picture is awesome

Top Dawg 08-07-2012 10:43 PM

U need an adderall and a pencil. U would throw out some art. That looks good.

Very nice looking photo

Geauxtigers1421 08-07-2012 10:46 PM

Jeez, wasn't expecting this! Thanks guys! What's a maniac mullet? I searched it but found pictures of like 4 different lures. And I'll sketch up some more tomorrow and post them up. Suggestions anyone? Besides the two trout? Jumping, swimming, etc. still need to finish this one! Haha

SGib 08-07-2012 11:15 PM

Trout with head out of water with topwater in it's mouth.

coastalobsession 08-08-2012 11:01 AM

A big trout after a croaker
A big trout blowing up a spook jr
A big trout with a pink corky hanging out of its mouth.

And of course they all have to be Texas size trout ;)

This is where I'm at so far. Kind of annoyed, was watching the Olympics and accidentally grabbed a charcoal pencil without realizing. That is why the back is so dark. Need to try and fix it then put in the scales when I get enough time.

And a new one in the workings... Nowhere near complete, just a 20-30 minute rough sketch. Dogs are much harder to get in proportion than fish! Lol
Still thinking of background ideas, just lightly sketched that one to see what'd itd be like

jpeff31787 08-08-2012 08:55 PM

Nice!! Are you looking off a pic or drawing out your head? If thats out your head, thats SUPER RIDICULOUSLY GOOD!

Geauxtigers1421 08-08-2012 08:58 PM

The giraffe was copied off a picture along with the fish, the fish was changed a tad. The dog was about 15 images of different labs put together for reference which led me to that then just put a dead duck in the mouth

Took about 3 months and it's not very realistic. I'm sure I could, it would just take longer and a lot of frustration. I don't really understand the question though! Do you mean like draw a person you know?

And thanks!

SULPHITE 08-08-2012 09:00 PM

is that a black bellied fulverous squealing mexican whistling duck in that dogs mouth??

:D

Another nice one in works keep it up!

Looks good. We may have a SC version of Guy Harvey

Geauxtigers1421 08-08-2012 09:49 PM

Thank y'all!
I was gonna start the speckled trout today but couldn't find near enough reference pictures to start since I'm not all that familiar with the fish so if any of y'all have some good pictures and close ups they would be appreciated!

jdm4x43732 08-08-2012 09:53 PM

Google It. That way you get one your comfortable drawing.

coastalobsession 08-08-2012 10:01 PM

Those drawings are CRAZY good!!!

I tried, maybe I don't know how to use google correctly but the only images that came up where either fish In an ice chest or people holding their catches. I was looking more for like swimming pictures or close ups. I'm doing my own drawing from my head, not copying a picture so I just need details in the gills and teeth and such. I'll look around more tomorrow when I have more time. Sure I'll find something to work with!

SULPHITE 08-08-2012 10:11 PM
