Gonna be on WAFB tonight!

My wife and I decided it would be a good idea to cook for all of our police and fire rescue guys today to say thanks for all they are doing for us. I put down 60 #'s of leg quarters on the smoker. Shortly after, WAFB pulled up and wanted to interview so, I thought it would be a great way to get the word out. Look and listen for us later today!

Now, in conjunction with my neighbor, Mr. Fixit's, we are gonna do another 60 #'s for the night crew as well!

DUCKGOGETTER 08-30-2012 01:21 PM

After rita when we were helping my inclaws clean up i took 2 weeks vacation to help, and every day i would bring the national guard at the check point breakfast. It was something so simple as that to make them feel appreciated. To me it was just a little money out my pocket, but to them it was more than that.

We fed a lot of folks today! Humility is a good thing to have in life and, helping them has added much more to mine. My job is easy compared to theirs!

x3 I had the opportunity to meet Corey in Grand Isle for the annual fishing trip and was able to witness his kindness and generosity first hand when he jumped into action to work on Dink's trailer wheel. Good times and good people.

PaulMyers 08-31-2012 08:25 AM

Man, Corey has y'all all fooled! ;)

Mr Fisher, once again you go above and beyond for people! Always so giving and never asking for anything in return! Truly, a stand up guy! I'm proud to call you my friend!

Cheers to you Corey!

Guys, I can't say thank you enough for the kind words. I've always enjoyed helping out where I can. It's just how I was raised. That being said, the real respect is for my parents for raising me to help others first.

I had a lot of fun doing this yesterday. We fed anyone who stopped in and even delivered a few meals. My hat's off to all the men and women that worked so hard to keep our community in order during the storm!
