Best $100 Bait caster?
I have a friend who wants to purchase a reel for her husband for their anniversary and wanted to keep the cost around $100-$150. I love my citica and curado E series but haven't heard that many great things about the new G series. I have heard a lot of good things about Lew's reels but never tried one myself. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Paul. |
H2o xpress mettle. 49.99. I don't even throw my e7 anymore.

I see your from Rayne, get with Anthony (rigratnomeaux) and he can hook you up with a lews in that price range. They are great reels.

Not sure the length but i have swapped several out. Oldest being over 2 years. Never a receipt. I always keep the boxes. Its cheaper to swap them out them to clean my other reels.

Damn that's wassup

Open up the cover breaks same style as a Mano. Slap the boca bearing in from my Curado. Got a good reel that has lifetime warranty. Can't beat it. Now it's not as smooth as the Curado
|
I own 4 mettles and 2 lews! For the price the mettle cant be beat! But the lews speed spool tournament series casts for miles! And is so smooth and its got a very small profile!

Lol. For real I dig mine good weight and just enough backbone. Although the lews and Cumara aren't a bad pair either. H2O best low dollar reel. |

Nothing like the Black or Blue Max...... It's Silver. ;)

Should have spent 25.00 more dollars and got the Abu Garcia Pro Max. Use Pro Max and the Orra HS SX and SX also up in Toledo when I bass fish. But Love shimano saltwater reels! The Pro Max is a pretty good reel though for the price!

BUMP
Got a question. Y'all use the H2o mettle for inshore? I'm looking for a good inshore bait caster, checked out the Abu Orra SX today and a couple others. Want something to his me a couple years use. $100 is my max for a reel, but if a mettle will net mettle will net me the same life and good warranty I'll get 2 for $100!! |
Lews is the way to go

Rinsing a reel off the is worse thing to do,it pushes the salt further into the bearings and gears. Better off wiping it down with a wet rag and oil the bearings every so often. The lews is a much better reel than the mettle IMO.
