Time to Replace my Truck Going to try a Non Union Built Toyota Truck
I am tired of the union people telling us we are poor, lazy, and non union workers are not as productive as they are.
The same people want to insult where we live, voted for a different president, and want entitlements. Since I change out my trucks alot for work maybe I have a voice with my money. I decided to buy my first imported truck since 1987 which is a Toyota Tundra. This is my first time buying an import truck since 1987 when I bought a Nissan Hardbody that lasted me 450,000 miles. I decided on a Toyota Tundra and I never owned a Toyota. Price wise I was shocked at the sticker price, but then once they put the truck on paper it cost neck to neck with a Ford or Dodge. The reason I chose Toyota is that they are built in San Antonio, TX and far away from the Union liberals in Michigan who think they are better than us. |
My brother in law just got a tundra, I was very impressed with the cab of those trucks. very nice and spacious.
|
X2 very nice trucks.
|
Nice trucks you will not be dissapointed...... Onto the Union thing.
When Auto Makers make a vehicle a certain percentage of the sale price is factored in for warranty work. Americans auto makers take the unused portion and return it to stock holders. Foreign Automakers take the money and put it into their employees retirement funds. |
I have a Tundra, very spacious interior, good ride, just could be a little better on fuel mileage.
|
You buy whatever you want and Toyota is a fine truck but what's with all the union bashing. You might as well bash Walmart, Academy, Shimano, etc, cause most of what you depend on a daily basis is no longer made here.
|
Toyota is more 'american' than most 'american made' vehicles:)
But on a side note, I was in the kids room playing with him and you all should take a look at where everything is made. Out of probably 50 toys, 45 were made in China, the rest were Taiwan and maybe one USA toy. Start looking at the baits you buy also, look on a pack of H&H sparkle beetles and it will not say Made in America, it will say Made in Ch..... |
i have an 04 tundra with 200k miles and love it. the interior layout is awesome with 4 cup holders( i usually wait until they're all full before throwing trash) and the center console had a top storage which is perfect for a pistol. when im ready to buy again i will definitely consider the tundra

i bought a union truck summabuck filed 8 grievances in the first week and refused to drive more than 8 miles a day....lmao!!!!!
Just kidding! lol |
I'm driving a Tacoma now. My next truck will be a Tundra. Only problem I've had with m truck in 4 years and 130k miles is the battery finally went out the other day
|
super nice trucks! That price is high though, but I guess you get what you pay for.... I know I'm never buying another Chevy... Never been in a truck with so many different rattles and the ride is super stiff, it is a 4x4 but I think they could have made it a little smoother riding. My friend has a Tundra and its super smooth and quiet and has plenty of power

I got a 2012 tundra TSS package; love it!!
Big interior ; great layout; mileage is better then what I expected. Being that I don't drive but 20 miles to work & home I'm not really concerned. The power is unreal!! Overall my favorite truck to date; ice had dodge , gmc, ford, Chevy now Toyota. |
I for one will never give another dime to GM. Just bought a ford and love it.
|
Better throw every TV, dvd, bluray, and radio you got in your house out to the road. Cause ain't a one of them sum *****es made in America. Congrats on the new truck, but is it really that politically motivated everytime you buy one?

Do you have the same fury over companies who outsource there work overseas for higher profits? If this is the path you take in making your buying decisions then there are alot more things to consider. Yea hate the unions, but you wouldn't mind some underage kid in Vietnam making 20 bucks a week sewing Nike apparel.

I threw away my draws today...made in indonesia...

Have had 2 tundras. Awesome power, lil rough on the ride. But last forever. Fuel mileage was bad. I guess all that performance comes with a price.

Here is a picture of the truck.
Has the Louisiana Package on it. Best of all I support a company that employs people in our region. http://i50.tinypic.com/15q2lw1.jpg |
Nice.

You will be supporting many locals with that especially the ones that work in the oilfield:grinpimp: They are thirsty trucks! Good looking ride though |
I have a 2007 tundra w/ 53000 miles and no complaints yet. 5.7 is a beast....
|
I have a 2007 with 75,000 and love it. Thinking about a new one after hunting season.
|
it just don't matter anymore.

I don't have any issue at all with anyone buying a nice truck like a Tundra, but if you don't want to buy anything made with union labor you might as well stop buying gas from Conoco or Citgo and products from several of the plants here in southwest Louisiana.

I use Chevron gas when possible due to they took care of me.
Worked as a process operator in El Segundo, CA back in 1990's. Don't know what going on now, but back then they were weeding out the union. It was so bad it took 4 union people to change a light blub in an office. The unit I worked in was a small batch unit Non union - paid better, better benefits, didn't get hit up for dues, our batches were 95%, and move up the ladder on merit not time in service. Yes, I had a rare cancer this company took care of me. Even though I left the company to move back to Louisiana they paid 100% of my medical treatment, paid 40 salary averaged out while in treatment, put me on their medical as an employee, and offered me employment in an office setting if I wanted to move back to California. We did the job better, made more money, and the company took care of me well after I left the company. Union- weeding them out , their batches 80% which alot of times we had to fix, Young people had to wait until someone retired to move up the ladder, and took twice the amount of people to do the same job. They actually had a guy in the maintenace shop who only job was to sweep up messes in the shop. No one cleaned up their mess that was his job. Sad part was one day they needed a basic light bulb changed in the office and it took 4 union people to do it. Union units were the worst run units in the company due to inter fighting between young members and older members over promotions. They older members would not help show the younger members how to run those units. One guy was injured and I saw a union member just looking at him not helping from the racks above. When I was there they ended up shutting alot of these units down due to they lost way too much money. Then election time their union was promoting Bill Clinton for President on company property. Funny, after Clinton was elected the majority of the union guys pushing for him lost their jobs. |
