Just a friendly reminder, snakes are still out. I have been in the hospital for two days now due to a water moccasin bite on my finger. Attachment 43339

mequain 11-27-2012 09:10 PM

Yea, doing good. It just hurts....bad. I should be out the hospital tomorrow but will have to go through surgery to remove the dead tissue.

Haha, my finger ended up in its mouth while trying to sneak up on a body of geese and I didn't see him hiding in the ditch I was crawling in.

Thought you can only crawl geese during conservation only ??

bgizzle 11-28-2012 02:47 AM

I thought if they were deprevating crops land owner and or farmer permission is only thing you need. What I think I heard because I was under the influence of the same laws but was told different recently

This is what I read in the regs.

Duck Butter 11-28-2012 08:55 AM

That looks painful man:eek:

Duck Butter 11-28-2012 08:57 AM

Goose creeping is one of those laws that will not stand up in court and a game warden would really have to be pushing the issue to give you a ticket. Much like shooting crows, blackbirds, etc. the wording in the regs are in your favor. You can always say the birds were about to 'predate' a field:)

YellowMouth7 11-28-2012 10:01 AM

Man I hope you get better

Duffy.yyz 11-28-2012 11:32 AM

Shot a copper head a couple of days ago...I HATE snakes! Almost stepped on it.

YellowMouth7 11-28-2012 11:32 AM

I got released from the hospital today and I'm now home. Have a drs appointment tomorrow to see about cutting out the dead flesh around the bite area. It was very hard not to panic when I saw the snakes mouth after it bit me and I realized it was a cottonmouth but my son and his friend was with me (both 11 years old) and I didn't want to freak them out. My son was already in tears on the way to the hospital. I have to say that all the stories about how painful cottonmouth bites are are very true, it hurt and still hurts like a sum b***h!

How instant was the pain when it struck? Did it take awhile? Get worse? Ever feel dizzy or anything? How long from the bite til you saw the doctor? Did you wrap up your finger?

Just really curious, sorry for all the questions:rotfl:

The bite itself felt like getting stung by a group of wasp at the same time. It took about 20 minutes to get to the hospital and the Dr was waiting on me. It was starting to burn when i got to the hospital. The actual pain started when my finger started to swell (about 40 minutes) and has not gone away yet. I never really got dizzy or sick the whole time. All I did after I was bitten was squeeze my finger with my other hand until I got to the hospital and the nurse made me let it go and told me to just let it bleed and hold my hand above my heart.

Dayum... That sucks, hope everything works out and thanks for the "heads-up"...

The only way to get rid of that curiosity is to let one bite you
