User Titles
1 Attachment(s)
I've had a few questions about the user titles (under your username). Here is how they are set up, and how many posts you need to have to move to the next level. This was the best I could come up with in the 5 minutes I thought about it. :)
If someone wants to propose a new scale of titles to work with these same post count levels, feel free to post up your ideas! |
i need to get on the ball to get rid of this gafftop crap, but im not sure if sheephead is much better
|
I'm already a Blue Marlin...........

You bought a premium membership, so you can change your user title in your profile settings. ;) |
sweet. did not know that.:)
|
Not sure of the value of this. I mean you could look at the top right of the header and see the post quantity.
Tagging newbies as a hardhead won't inspire me to post more or continue on site. As a fairly new user, it's intimidating enough to post a report without a limit in the box but ...I'm trying to contribute. Gafftop isn't much better. I know it's all in fun but it seems to run counter to encourage new members. Calling 'em out as light users seems to run against the concept of an open and fun site. I liked the old way better. It was part of the entertainment of the site. Again, I think the post counter title is sort of redundant and frankly, shouldn't be as heavily emphasized. That's my two cents worth. |
Agreed, "Hard Head" may not be the best way to welcome new members. :) Again, I thought it up in literally under 5 minutes. I also thought about using things like "fingerling", etc. Most sites use "Newbie", "Up and Comer", "Pro", etc. Any suggestions are welcome. The post counts are at the top of this thread...feel free to come up with a new scale. There's some SC cash in it for someone who comes up with a better one. ;)

|
Thats a nice one fool...
|
Same here. Nice job. No Trash Fish - a good motto in life, too.
Just thinking, I might put the flounder above the speck. They're great eating and tougher to target most of the year. A stuffed saddle blanket is tough to beat . . . |
nice names fool but the 200 to move up the first time is a little to high. Got to encourage people to post, but that will just encourage people to
|
do
|
this
|
Feel free to switch them around, just throwing some names out there. Took me 3 minutes to think up.
|
to get their post count to that level. Just a sugestion. As I sais I do like the names though.
|
Totally agree cabwiz2 - like asking for class participation - get a lot of bonehead comments just bc its part of the game.
Shad - I sent a PM and noticed that my cash decreased. Am I just going crazy? |

Yep, I like them better than what I have so far. Just waiting to see if anyone else comes up with anything. If not, we'll go with yours. Good job!

Uh, no. I'm not opening that can of worms. :) |
Maybe ad Croaker to the top and start flounder at 50. Just a thought.
|
so, hypothetically, if you get down to zero, you can't PM? Just curious as I am trying to figure it out.
THX and great work on the site |

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/polecat
Main Entry: pole·cat Pronunciation: \ˈpōl-ˌkat\ Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural polecats or polecat Etymology: Middle English polcat, probably from Middle French poul, pol **** + Middle English cat; probably from its preying on poultry — more at pullet Date: 14th century 1 : any of several carnivorous mammals (as of the genera Mustela or Vormela) of the weasel family; especially : a brown to black European mammal (M. putorius) from which the domesticated ferret is derived 2 : skunk :work::work::work: How fitting a name it is!!!! |

i thinking hard about changing my user name to MR. POLECAT
|
Quote:
WTH...is this got to do with advice....???? What is a POLE CAT? Must be a RR thing |
Quote:
well a "POLE CAT" is a skunk, or a weasel according to the definition which i dont see how a skunk is a polecat??? |
I see you are playing dumb again oh wait .................................................. .............
|
yeah W didn't you read the dang definition!!!!!!! LMBO
|
Quote:
Well they were asking for names so, I just pulled one out of thin air. And I put the definition along with it so you would understand. And i see you still can't get RR off your mind!!! Awww how sweet you still miss him:work: |
Quote:
That aint right:eek: |

I know
I know Polecat ......................the truth hurts!:*****::*****::*****: |
I like the fish names and the hunting names, how about putting them on the same points system and the user can choose which one he/she wants to use. Since this is a hunting/fishing website, some hunters may not want a fish name and some fishermen may not want a bird name. Just something to think about.
|
Now that is an idea!
|
Quote:
great idea! guess if he picks all or our ideas we gotta split the cash 3 ways  |
Oh, by the way Shad.....................fool said you are suppossed to give me a 1000 of his points. he wants to make a charitable contribution!!!
