More than a dozen people, including elementary school children, were shot and killed at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school this morning, federal and state sources tell ABC News.
A shooting involving two gunmen erupted at a Connecticut school this morning, prompting the town of Newtown to lock down all of its schools and draw SWAT teams to the school, authorities said today. State Police confirm that one shooter is dead. A second gunman is apparently at large. It's unclear how many people have been shot, but more than a dozen people including school children are dead, multiple federal and state sources tell ABC News. The shooting comes just three days after masked gunman Jacob Roberts opened fire in a busy Portland, Ore., mall killing two before turning the gun on himself. Today's shooting occurred at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, about 12 miles east of Danbury. Watch State Police News Conference Live at 1 p.m. at ABCNews.com State Police received the first 911 call at 9:41a.m. and immediately began sending emergency units from the western part of the state. A photo from the scene shows a line of distressed children being led out of the school. Prayers for those babies. What horror that had to be for them.

Just ain't right man. There's some seriously twisted people in this world to do this at an ELEMENTARY school, and with his own kid there, no less.
|
This is sad prayers sent to the families. These poor precious children of god having to go through this.

These children will be scared for life... PTSD. Its one thing to be involved in something like this... but to be of that age and witness tragedy like this. God help all these families and kids.

Then he took the easy way out and killed himself like a true coward. I hope he burns in hell and the devil and napoleon have their way with him.

He's there right now. And this is really strong ammunition for the gun hippies.

This breaks my heart! Prayers sent!

What it "should" do is encourage the push for more concealed carry.
Reading this just makes me want to leave work right now and go give my little a big hug and be thankful I get to go home to her every night. Very heart breaking. |

Guys i can't express how much this breaks my heart and watching it on the news has brought tears to me. These kids were in school just like every other day they are there and these demons went in there and opened fire on angels of god. Innocent angels of god i pray that god helps thses people through this and that he has no mercy on these 2 demons spirits.

Just read a few pages of comments on CNN and I've never been so pissed off in my life. Because I like duck in my gumbo and deer roast I'm a back woods gun nut? FU(K all those liberal bastards!!
|
Shooter confirmed as Ryan Lanza... they also found a dead body in his home. daaaaang man... what is this world coming to? hug your kids.
|
So sad
|
Now they are saying his father and mother, who was apparently a teacher at the school, are both dead. And his little brother was the one hauled out of the woods. Geez, man, can't say the story can get any worse than killing kids, but this just ain't right.
One of my buddies made a good analogy to the gun ban argument: drunk drivers kill people all the time, but you don't see anyone yammerin to get cars banned. |
To all the gun ban folks...This happened in a "gun ban zone!"
|
20 children dead
6 adults dead at school....one being the shooters mother 1 shooter dead at school 1 dead at the location shooter lived Still unanswered....two persons missing shooters girlfriend and friend have yet to be found. Second person found in wooded area at school is reported to possibily be the brother of the shooter...uncomfirmed. Weapons.....two pistols one being Glock and one being Sig Saur. Also one rifle |

Very sad day
Will be praying for those who were killed as well as those who are affected by this. |
Horrible! What in the world! Taking any innocent life much less kids..... Definitely heartbreaking and I feel deeply for the parents and families who are going through this tragedy. I have no idea how I would deal with such scenario if I lost my son!
Prayers...many prayers being sent |
What a tragedy!! I just think about how traumatizing this will be for the kids that went through this
Also, we need guns more than ever. Drugs are illegal and drug dealers still get their hands on them, all a gun ban would do is cause more crime b/c the good people have no protection |

He's an idiot in my views but, he is still a parent. |
Instead of our Gov trying to take our guns from us how bout the Gov try putting God and disipline back into our schools and our society. It all starts there in my opinion. When I was in school and im sure like many of you all, we said prayers before school. We had disipline in school when we acted up, that big coach with big arms would come down and take care of us, you learned quickly unless you enjoyed pain! We knew there was a price to pay. We actually drove with our shotguns in our gun racks in clear view and parked in the school parking lots so we could go hunting as soon as that bell rang. Kids today go home and play war games all day. I know raising your kids starts at home, it is that way in my home, BUT it sure wouldn't hurt to have God and disipline back in our schools as a backup for those that choose to let their kids do what the hell they want to do with no worries, I truly believe that it would help. Guns have been around a lot longer than me and we never have had this kind of violence in our society, it's been growing since the removal of God in our everyday lives.

Now what they are saying is this nut job killed his mom at home, and then went to the school and killed her class? That's just sick in so many ways. They're gonna make a special place in Hades for him......

A federal official tells CBS News that according to state records all three weapons that Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza had with him were bought legally and were registered to Lanza's mother.

Hard to say it was genuine. I did not see tears to speak of but the gestures to point them out were there. As a true politician obama will take an opportunity to advance his desires. |

Consider letting your representatives know to not touch or alter the 2ndamendment as written. obama let it be known today he is coming for it. |
this is sad my fishing buds, but it is reality for the USA. If you would do some research, our government has protected or tried to protect our youth so much that rthey do not know what reality is. There are parents that let their children view and do anything they want and let them view anything on tv. As a parent myself, when you let a child view and play violent games all of his life and do not try to give them GUIDANCE this is what you get. I am not trying to tell all of you what to do with your kids. however if you train a dog to attack he will attack....My friends on this site, spend time with your kids, the USA needs all of us good people to come together, this is very sad, but i am sure i will get worst until we stop it

As much as I'm with everyone on the (band guns or not) I am not going to get into this now!!
This is about the little Angels that are up in Heaven now thanks to a devil! My heart is so sad for these little souls, I want justice, but where does it come from?? If he rots in hell that's not good enough!!!!! |
This is really a sad deal. I cant imagine what any of those folks are going through.
Officials are saying Ryan Lanza got into a dispute with his mother, took her guns (an AR-15 and Glock and Sig pistols) and shot her in the face. Then went to the elementary school and opened fire on her students. The guns were registered to the mother. Criminals are gonna get guns, this guy shot his own mother to get some. What kinda sicko could do something like that? Sad, sad. |
Where The Lord is not, the devil may be. I hope today's tragedy really showed us how precious our kids are.
|
Yep....just takes thinking about those kids' Christmas presents still under the tree....makes my eyes fill up pretty quickly....can't begin to imagine what the parents are going through....hope they've got a good church, they're gonna need one..
|
Truly sadden by this hidious crime against these children. Some may not agree with what I'm gonna say, but, we have allowed God to be taken out of our schools and our government. And now, our government is allowing the legalization of drugs, and read article today where Obama is not going to force the feds to regulate the states allowing drugs. If we can't control illegal drugs, how are they going to control guns? I think former Gov. Huckabee said it right, " We don't have a criminal problem, we don't have a violence problem, we don't have a gun problem, we have a sin problem since we have taken God out of our schools, military, and our government". I am not for gun control, criminals will have guns no matter what. Our country is being torn apart by both demo's and republican because they both won't do what is best for our country, and its fixing to get worse. JMO. But prayers go out to all families and staff of this school, this will be tough for them to overcome, but for the Grace of God.
