Not trying to put my ole buddy Ray on the spot but I was wondering if there was going to be a Salty Cajun Redfish Tourney? Couldn't make it earlier this year so was hoping it could happen this time.

We can do something when it gets cold...
it ain't fun catching Reds in warm weather.

Ray put together a pretty good tourney last time also had help from Tightline11, it was a good time!

Thinking maybe in Febuary again Ray?

Yak division? Or if someone needs a spot filled in their boat :D

yea same rules as last year is good..

1.All Federal and State rules and regulations will apply. Violations will result in disqualification of the entire team.
2. A maximum of three (3) anglers per team. Entry fee is $25 per person, Kayak fisherman may fish in teams of (2) anglers but must fish in locations together at all times. Wade fisherman must not have more than (3) anglers per boat and have to maintain all together in your wading area.
3. Fishing hours will begin at safe boating hours on Feb. 16, 2012 and contestants must be in the weigh-in line at Calcasieu Point by 2:00PM. Any team not in line by 2PM will be disqualified. Weigh-in begins at 12:00PM and closes at 2:30PM.
4. All fish must be caught on a rod and reel. Live, dead and artifical bait/lures are acceptable.
5. No fish may be accepted from or given to another team.
6. Boat, Wade, or Kayak fishing are all permitted within the stated boundaries.
7. Heaviest LEGAL 2-Redfish stringer below 27” each will win.
8. Boundaries: Participants may fish anywhere in Lake Calcasieu or its tributaries, and Black Lake, and must be public waters. No fishing on private property allowed.
9. In case of a tie, total length of the 2 Redfish stringer will determine the winner.
10. All Weigh master’s rulings are FINAL
11. Organizers are not responsible for any accident or injury, nor loss, damage, or theft to any property.
12. There will be a cash payout equivalent to 60% of the entry fees for 1st place, 2nd place 30% and 3rd place 10%.
13. Pot winners will be announced at 3:00PM.
14. IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER, THIS EVENT WILL BE CANCELLED. IF FOR ANY REASON EVENT CANNOT BE HELD ALL ENTRY FEES WILL BE REFUNDED.
16. Participants can launch anywhere that they like as long as their payment is received before they launch the day of the tournament .
17. Everyone is welcome to fish the event

These rules were stolen from the last Saltycajun tournament and changes to reflect Redfish instead of Trout.

$10 side pot for BIG NASTY DRUM. All side pot money will go to the fisherman with the biggest Black Drum caught on rod and reel. If no Black Drum are weighed in, the money will go to charity.

Launch from any where you want, but the weigh in will be at Calcasieu Point.

Yes. Max of 3 per team. You can have 1 to 3 in a team.

And if you paypal the money, send as a gift.
If not, paypal will take out money and that will lower the prizes.

What will be the west boundary? Salt ditch, Shell ditch maybe Sabine River but no fishing Sabine lake? I ask because if the weather is rough it will give us more protected water to fish the farther west the boundary is.

Black Lake, Salty Ditch, Vinton Ditch, Kelso Bayou and Black Bayou are in. From Saltwater Barrier to the end of the Jettys.

It is tough recieving money then paying back. Hard to keep track.

Night before the tournament will have a meeting. Pay then. Or Paypal.

Will find a good place that any age can get in. Didn't think about that last year and went to Coolers Ice House, and we had under 18 fishermen.

The landing. What I remember is when I was a kid and it was Tucan's. Would go with the parents by boat and their whole dock area would be full of boats.

Huddle up is a good meeting place, we tried to have a get together there before the last SC tourney but not many of us showed up.

Huddle up is hosting the weigh in at 5 that day for some mma fights on the 16th. Should be packed

They got Putters on lake street (at the golf range). Not sure if there is an age limit but its a cool little place with some food and some brew.
