Bout to buy a 9 for cc. 10+1 pistol. 5" total length. Got a .40 px4 in the house.

weedeater 12-28-2012 10:34 PM

Looking at Springfield XD M .45ACP with 3.5 barrel, I have a Keltec PF 9 already so I am wanting somethin bigger now.

fishinpox 12-28-2012 10:38 PM

H&k usp 45
Glock 40 mid size ( model 23 I think)

southern151 12-28-2012 10:39 PM

Your thoughts on the pf9? Bout to load up on some knockoff pistols with a lifetime warranty behind em.

fishinpox 12-28-2012 10:39 PM

Xd are junk, a glock I basically 3 parts w/o all the safety gimmicks a xd has.

OhSoEasy 12-29-2012 12:19 AM

I love my pf9 and my 40 xdm 4.5. Look into the xds. It's on my list.

weedeater 12-29-2012 12:48 AM

I am very pleased with PF 9, I have shot several clips with cheap ammo with no hangups, easy to conceal and shoots way better then Taurus I had

southern151 12-29-2012 12:52 AM

If I may ask, what did each of you pay for your pf 9? Gauging interest in the pistol I'm looking into.

weedeater 12-29-2012 01:23 AM

I gave $300 with the metal clip that mounts on gun to clip in you waist band

huggybro 12-29-2012 01:24 AM

Friend carries a Kimber Ultra Carry in 45 cal. It is one of the nicest carry pistols I have seen. I would stick with a 45. Better stopping power and cheaper ammo.

What do you guys know about the Diamondback DB 9?? Saw one last week and it looks great for CC. Any comments?

LPfishnTIM 12-29-2012 08:51 AM

neg. on the diamondback!

OhSoEasy 12-29-2012 09:07 AM

Yea I think I paid the same 275 plus tax or something like that

BigChaf 12-29-2012 10:19 AM

I have an XD 45 with hundreds of rounds thru it with no issues, 13 round clip is nice, laser site is nice and the safety features are excellent, just have to shoot enough rounds to get used to it, a little big to cc, but is very comfortable with a quality shoulder holster, very safe and deadly firearm.

Will"E"Fish 12-29-2012 02:38 PM

I'LL advise one thing and the rest is up to your pocket book.Don't never go to gunfight with gun that the first number of the caliber is at least a 4 or better.

negative as of not as reliable as a glock or a revolver. but if the cost is in your range and its cc and you shoot it and find it to be good enough for you, its better then being in a gun fight without a gun! just remember 2nd place dies! better to have and not need then to need and not have!

agreed!

weedeater 12-29-2012 11:53 PM

That's an XDS? Anyone shot the XDS and XDM to be able to compare them or have experience with one or the other?

DA COVE 12-30-2012 05:41 AM

Look'n hard @ the XD s and the Glock 36 right now. I' like'n the XD s a little more.. put your hands on them first, find something that fits you.. The .40 it gonna give you more muzzle jump, the .45 will be more of a push straight back on the recall, so you should be able to stay on target better with the .45.. Just my thought on it though..

OhSoEasy 01-04-2013 10:08 PM

I turned down an xds two weeks before the conn shooting. Regretting that decision ever since. Cannot find one to save my life.

Dink 01-05-2013 01:07 AM

Got the XDs . Awesome little gun! Makes BIG holes! My wife often timea takes it in the mornings leaving me her .22.

I was able to look at XDM but haven't found XDS yet. I have seen some very impressive reviews also on it

Dink 01-05-2013 09:01 AM

Yes, they are hard to find. But after talking to a cop here in Lafayette about a shooting awhile back, I'll only carry a .45.......

Story goes, cop shot an armed "perp" 11 times with a 9mm before he stopped. Im not taking that chance......

I have a Glock 30 that I carry, and just bought the S&W M&P Shield .40. The shield is very easy to carry. Very thin profile. It's very similar to the XDS as far as size. My glock 30 (.45 ACP) is a fat gun. I use a Crossbreed IWB holster which makes it a lot easier to conceal. My wife can shoot both guns with no problems. She was hesitant at first but with a little range time, she had it down pat! Of course the glock 30 is a 10+1 while the Shield is a 7+1 with the extended magazine and a 6+1 standard.

I just bought a Ruger SR40C and I love it!! It comes with a standard 9+1 clip for easier concealment, and an extended 15+1 clip for target shooting. The gun shoots great and I find it fairly easy and comfortable to conceal

Good choice!

weedeater 01-10-2013 02:02 PM

What you had to give for it?

OhSoEasy 01-10-2013 02:15 PM

549.99 at Cajun Gun and Tackle in New Iberia. They are 529.99 at Academy I think but you have to be lucky and catch them.

My dad picked up one of these today, sweet gun

cduhon 01-14-2013 09:42 PM

Picked up a XDM 40 this week from Gator guns. Love the gun, best gun I have shot so far. Felt tons of guns but this one felt sweet. Salty shaw picked one up also while I was there.
