Killin in Kaplan! 1080p VIDEO!

1 Attachment(s)
Had a fun hunt with some buddies. Finished with 10 Mallards, 5 Greys, 2 Spoonies (accident!), 1 GW Teal. Specks were afraid of Mojos so we took a chance at one passing shot with no luck. Sun was shining so it made the video a little easier to see being that I was using a GoPro Hero 3. They don't film duck hunts too well due to the fish-eye lens. Notice that one of the mallards crushed my mojo! It was fun though!! Video is viewed better on a computer than a phone.

No doubt! Not my dog. Good dog but gets really jumpy as soon as he would see up pull up to shoot.

Jordan 01-18-2013 12:30 PM

Close shooting by the dog. My ears are ringing after seeing that. Nice job nonetheless

A little work in the off season steadying him up.. He'll be fine.. Very nice hunt for this late in the season...

Good deal. Neither am I. The blind is sunk very low into the ground so every shot is almost directly straight up. The GoPro camera that I use has a "fish-eye" lens which tends to make things look further away then they really are. Anyone who uses a GoPro will say the same thing. The guys hunting with me are very close together in the blind. The only time that i would've possible rung one of them is when I was about to shoot at that mallard towards the end if the video, but instead, I turned to the right to shoot one that had lit. I'm a very safe hunter and I've been doing it all my life. Never got any complaints from anyone about me "ringing" them. Also, not my dog. Thx for looking out though.

Shawn Braquet 01-18-2013 10:20 PM

Camera definitely doesnt give the actual situation, and definitely mot knocking a great hunt, just looking after a fellow sportsman and his buddies pup. Definitely was not trying to put anyone or their dog down, my mutt has plenty of faults as well just hoping to save a potential problematic hunt.

shellman 01-19-2013 03:46 PM

Nice vidio........

bjhooper82 01-19-2013 10:01 PM

Sweet video.

Sabine slayer 01-20-2013 05:18 AM

lol these dudes tryin to blind boss on the net.... doesnt even look like anyone is shooting over anyone's head. And yea the dog breaks early and yes that is a problem but i guess they all have a grand champ. at the house.
they prolly never even been in a pit much less had a good strap like that

funny they didnt ask why you shot the hens

Awesome hunt bro !!!!

specktator 01-20-2013 09:53 AM

Don't know HOW?? You TWIST a simple comment on BLIND SAFETY??? In to "PRO STAFFERS"??? and other stupid comments which proves the ages of some posters on here..

The dog comment was a simple one.. With a little work the dog will stay SO HE CAN SEE THE BIRDS FALL...

Let me just say.. I NEVER shoot nor SWING(Point) MY GUN OVER ANYONES HEAD PERIOD.. Empty or loaded...

If I was guest in someone blind and did that; I wouldn't be asked back..

If you were in my blind and did that, YOU wouldn't be invited back..

Its evident by others comments they have never been invloved a blind shooting accident.. I've never either.. But have lost several friends and my friends children with that practice.

AS A SAFETY PROFFESIONAL with over 25 yrs of experience, and waterfowling over 50 yrs I'd say the blind safety HOPEFULLY is everyones first priority..

It's was an awesome video and I think I passed along that exact statement..

Was NO JEALOUSY INVOLVED.. Just was a simple comment regarding gun safety during an awesome video..

Like I said, "pro-staffer"! Thanks for the tips. You are the best at everything you do, obviously.

bgizzle 01-20-2013 04:05 PM

Great vid bro. You gotta edit somethings that you wouldn't think you'd have to to post it on here. Dog does jump and once it was too close for my comfort but you can tell that you held back and everyone is alive that's safety in my book. Come back in one piece. Big gun I smell what you stepping in aswell just looking out for a fellow hunter. Do what I do don't post anymore one of these days carma will catch up to clowns. Hope everyone had a better last weekend than our place. Didnt go today but heard it was bad and a buddy stuck his truck to end it all.

Goooh 01-20-2013 06:09 PM

1.) it's his blind, his hunt, his post, not his dog and did the safe thing by not pulling the shot.

2.) the post did not ask for gun safety pointers

3.) what's age have to do with anything? There is no age limit on who can join and who can post.

4.) Many of us thought the same things when we saw the video, but being non liberals we decided it wasn't our business to correct them. We all took the same hunters safety course, we all are responsible for our own actions, and we ALL made mistakes and had to learn to be better sportsman - NOBODY started anything as a pro, so yes age shows, but to talk of younger members like they are any less than you is a little pompous.

Try a PM and a different approach as opposed to calling someone out on their own post that is totally unrelated, while making yourself look as though you are the end all, be all of what should be done in a blind.

These are the types of things that reduce participation on these sites, and run off members who may have a lot to bring to the table.

jsethl13 01-20-2013 06:13 PM

Yeah, if I knew how to delete a Topic I would. Getting silly in here! Haha

bgizzle 01-20-2013 06:36 PM

It's true we'll said, Paulmyers jcheif or Casey can delete. I feel the same way sometimes but it the same ones everytime and I bet they are all horrible ppl in person 2. I mean really what kinda person you gotta be to say stuff like ppl say on here. You obviously post it cuz you want you "sc fam" to have your back n be proud n say good job but yet they say everything but that. Sometimes I ask for critisism and get it then don't and still get it. You welcome in my blind any time bro in fact pm me ilL give u my number and we can fish all summer. I got go pro I don't hate I appreciate: much love bro hell of a hunt and video. Everyone needs haters

cmcnabb 01-20-2013 08:05 PM

Lotta know it alls on this site. It gets old real quick

bgizzle 01-20-2013 08:19 PM

Thx mcnabb for theory on pm. I figured that was one answer but its hard to turn ya head ya know.

"A SAFETY PROFFESIONAL" Is that a fancy way to say you are a saftey guy?? if so that explains alot. I work with plenty of SAFETY PROS and they are all no it alls and jerk offs
Like i said it doesnt even look like anyone got shot over.... the one time he could have he pulled off.

Chris said yall had hunted in Kaplan-good hunt. Still enjoy your coot shoot video. Need to make a timber hunt video-bet that would be awesome. Hope you had a good season, will try to get you and Chris to make a wood duck hunt next season close to home on farm. (we hunted together last year at chris's place- you had just got the camera).

Reefman 01-21-2013 02:45 PM

Were you huntin' in Brad's blind? Looks like that big open water pond of his. Great video, appreciate the work you put into it! Good shootin by the way! Seth, I'm real good friends of Carl and Brad; father-in-law to Jill.

Yeah buddy! Be looking for the Coot Shoot 2013 Video in the next few months. We're gonna have 3 GoPros as well as my wife videoing. Should be a fun video to make. Lets just hope the coots hang around as long as they did last year. Going timber hunting on Saturday so I may have another video to put up as well. Hope your season was good. See you soon!

We were in Brad's goose blind. Usually no water out there. All the rain had flooded it out so every thing you see is rainwater. Was a fun day. Lots of big birds in the sky.
